I can confirm that this game is ridiculously hard to beat without practicing hundreds of times or cheating. I can only get to the worm part (without cheating) until it gets difficult with all the spikes and whatnot.

I have three.

Ultimate Spider Man on the DS. THere was one Venom level where there was no was that me or the one other person I knew who had the game could find a way to progress past a certain point.

Thy Dungeonman. This game had so many ways to lose it wasn't even funny. Well, it was funny but it was nearly impossible. I found a walkthrough but never got around to playing through with it.

Peasant Quest. This was similar to Thy Dungeonman in that it was a text based game, but you could roam around and it seemed less confusing but I still always got stuck. I never even got to the part where you throw a baby into a large body of water which is all I ever really wanted to do.

Ugh guys I just remembered another one. The Immortal for Genesis (may have also been on SNES). Friggin HARD game, you played as like an old dude who was pretty weak and seriously just fighting a couple of goblins would kill your ass.

I'm one of the few people who thought Zelda II was easier than Zelda 1 (at least easier than the second quest). I've beaten Zelda II countless times, and there are a bunch of NES games I could never beat.

I'm also one of the few people who actually LIKED Zelda II. I played it even more than Zelda 1.

I could program a game where you have to hit "x" 5000 times in a single second to win... and that would become the hardest game ever. (Or better yet, a screen that says "You Lose" as soon as you start.)

Just because you make some contrived scenario which is impossibly difficult doesn't make it a legitimate game.

I would say as far as recent games go, besides Megaman 9, I think that "Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero?" for PSP is astoundingly hard, but beatable.

One hit kills are brutal to the max.

Also, Super Adventure Island was almost impossible. I could never beat the final boss.
