So I need more space and I have no idea how this works. All I want to do is buy a 60gb harddrive but I don't know if they come with a transfer kit, or even how to use one. So, do retail stores sell 60gb HD's with a transfer kit and can I keep the songs that my friend downloaded onto my console (so I have the licenses for them, he can't play them offline)?
Also, everything on my 20gb would be transferred right?

As far as I know, the 60gb drives don't come with the transfer kit, but the kit will work with it. They're relatively easy to obtain (hell, I've got one I could send you if you really need it) and are simple enough to use. Pop in the CD, plug in the provided cable with your new Hard Drive attached, and it does the whole transfer for you. Your new HDD will work exactly like the old one did, no licensing issues or missing items, etc., because it's the data, not the drive that the 360 recognizes. Your old drive will be blanked at the end of the process, so as far as your 360 will be concerned, you magically added 40 extra gigs of [mostly] blank space to the memory.
