View Full Version : Rock Band Needs MORE SING-ALONG SONGS!

The trouble is, when I try to get my friends to play, they won't know many of the songs, and the singer in particular will say, "I dont' know this song, i don't know if i want to sing it," for example. Most of the time, I think they are lame (the singer), since its not that hard to just read/sing the lyrics, especially when playing on easy. But at the same time, Rock Band would be the ultimate party game if it had songs that are easy to sing, AND fun to sing. Say It Ain't So was a very good choice, Buddy Holly will be very good as well, both great Sing-Along songs (that happen to both be by Weezer). So i'm just saying, we need more Sing Along-ish songs, to make it more appealing to outsiders to play rock band with me!
My suggestions (not all are necessarily Sing-Alongish):
Aerosmith - Dream On
The Beatles - Come Together
The Beatles - Here Comes the Sun
The Beatles - The End
The Beatles - I Feel Fine
The Beatles - Help!
The Beatles - Revolution
The Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There
The Beatles - And Your Bird Can Sing

Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
Count Five - Psychotic Reaction

Free - All Right Now
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Fire

I just think there needs to be a lot more from the 60's, Gimmer Shelter barely counts, especially since it and its movie are often referenced as marks of the end of the Sixties. The 60's had some of the most melodic and best songs to sing along to of all time (202 of Rolling Stone's Top 500 Songs of All Time come from the 60's, compared to 144 from the 70's). Sure they might not make the most challenging of all songs, but I think the vibe of having songs that are easy to sing along to make up for that. It's just a lot more enjoyable for everyone when the instruments are fun, even if they aren't too hard, and more importantly the singer is enjoying themselves on a song they know or isn't too hard to learn. Thats why those Weezer songs are probably going to be the most played songs when I'm playing with a group of friends (casual RB players). Those Beatles songs would help out IMMENSELY as well!

Yeah, I agree, I know there are a couple Songs/Groups I wouldnt mind seeing make its way onto the RB downloadables section.
But again, I'm sure if they get any Beatles, They will probably wait and put them on RB 2 whenever that comes out... ya know? they need some great songs to really push the newer games...
Maybe not...
I think this one would be a good one for sing alongers..

"As evidence, guitarist Joe Perry was recently found shooting his mouth off in the latest issue of Game Informer, where he took an opportunity to namedrop songs like Cheap Trick's "Dream Police," Mott the Hoople's "All the Young Dudes," Joan Jett's "Hate Myself for Loving You," and "All Day and All Night" by the Kinks as confirmed for the upcoming game." -1up.com
Damnit! Rock Band needs the Kinks, they were snubbed too in GH II with Van Halen's crap version of You Really Got Me.
