How does everyone else feel about this?
Personally, I've been pulling for him since last year's Wimbledon, the first that I ever watched. Though I started watching him and playing tennis later in his journey to supremacy, it is very exciting for me.
So, thoughts?

My opinion is that he has lucked into a time when the rest of the field is relatively down. Aside from Nadal, the rest of the tennis world is inconsistent or flawed. That was typified by today where Roddick had the big serve but not necessarily the all-around game to support it.
That is not meant as a slight to Federer, as he can only beat whoever is in front of him. But you have to look back on Sampras/Agassi and other great rivalries and then see that this era doesn't have that same calibre of players.
People right now are prisoners of the moment and are always ready to shout "greatest ever" at the drop of a hat. Dan Marino won zero rings, Brad Johnson won one... does that make Brad the better quarterback?
