Since ScoreHero has a score list for the guitar/bass but not vocals or drums, I thought it'd be a good idea to make one. If anyone would like to make a list for the drums, be my guest, but since I don't play them enough, I'll leave it for someone else.

I'm sure I'll be joining the ranks come Christmas time. I actually snuck the game out of the box and drove to the Dollar Store to pick up some masking tape to tape it back up. I've been using the headset to sing, and I've already gotten some gold stars on a few songs (Creep, Say It Aint So, and In Bloom, I believe). And something tells me the headset is a little less than reliable. Hopefully the performance with the actual microphone is better than the bad feedback I get with the headset...

I arranged the list according to where they lied on the solo tour. Maps is in the first tier. But it's probably different depending on the city you choose, I went with New York.

Every time I get a good vocals score I rush to the leaderboards to see my hopes and dreams CRUSHED under your heel. ( +4 points on Paranoid, ~1000 on (DF)TR )

I'd try again, but honest to god the scoring system for vocals completely boggles my mind... -1 phrase with bad overdrive usage somehow trumped a 100% run with better overdrive on (DF)TR.

Perhaps you should stay in Mass Effect for a while till I figure this out. :cool:

You took back second place twice yesterday! Haha...thanks for making this the most fun I've ever had gunning for #2! At the least, we're spurring each other towards the ultimate goal of taking down that supreme overlord of vocal skill, Kirksplosion. But I also see the name Blue-Alloy creeping up the charts awfully fast right on our tail, we better keep an eye on him/her.

Gold Star cutoff for Orange Crush is probably below 144k, as evidenced by my 144,100 gold star of it last night. Got it on the last phrase, so it's above 140k.

Also, cutoff for Foreplay/Longtime is above 208k, I just scored 208k and missed it.

It might be just below 144k for Orange Crush, but there's no real evidence of that yet, so I'll go with your 144k score. As for Boston, I have 225k on that and no gold stars either. There are a few songs I can 100% and yet, even though I'm using my overdrive like nuts, I can't seem to get gold stars.

This sucks, I got 100%, all awesomes and used up all my overdrive on two songs and didn't get gold stars on either! (?!?) I don't like having to guess where to activate!

Dead On Arrival and Vasoline, Manda is higher on both of them also with no gold.

I'm glad my topic helped you out so much =D I love to be able to contribute to the community. And don't worry about I'm So Sick, I've gotten 100% with 113k on it and still haven't gold starred it. It's a toughie, it is. I feel like I'm so close...

What was driving me nuts about it -- and the same applies to several other songs -- is that I kept screwing up on the so-called talky bit near the beginning. I think half the problem is that even in hollering the word "break", you're beginning and ending on voiceless letters, so that even if you're timing it right, the machine doesn't always pick it up. I wasn't really doing anything wrong, but doing the same thing louder seemed to help, and really, you seem to be better off if you turn the line more or less into "I will AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH."

None of which excuses me from missing the same damn intervals at the end of the song that I was having no problems with until that point, but er. :)

Playing around with the mic sensitivity helps with recognition of talky parts. Just play around with it and find one that likes you.

Those Talky Parts are tricky, and how you approach them seems to be different for each song. The best thing you can do is attempt the way the original singer does it, and improvise as necessary.

A hint for I'm So Sick is to make sure you catch the "I'm so" sung pitches, and then hold "break" as long as you can.

Does Green Grass and High Tides end early on vocals? Cause there's none for like the last 4 minutes.

Oh yeah, getting 100% flawless on the tambourine/cowbell parts. I think it's just "poor" Overdrive usage. And at the end of GGaHT there is a looong line of tambourine hits.

Lol, exactly! For some songs you get gold stars 5 phrases before the end, but some like that require precise and carefully planned activations...

On another note, I just did Sabotage and got my best score yet: 95%. Lol, I spoke the whole thing as monotone as possible. Seems to work.

I've had the highest score by around 7000 on Mississippi Queen recently on XBL and that STILL wasn't enough for gold stars.
TatteredUniform just beat it tonight, so you'll have to ask him if it was enough.

I'm slowly chipping away at the gold-star list; I've picked off five or six songs since last I posted. It also occurred to me today, while nearly dislocating my right wrist trying to chug through one of the guitar parts on hard -- expert, I fear, is beyond my grasp -- that it's lucky I don't suck on vocals, or I'd never see a gold star score EVER.

On the other hand, "equipment failure" takes on a whole new meaning when it's your own throat refusing to cooperate with you. Think EA could expand that whole product warranty/exchange thing? It is cold and flu season, after all. ;)

Yeah, I just did got 100% again... hit all the tambourine parts and scored about 2,000 more points on this song. I must be activating my overdrive at the wrong parts because I am falling just short of 210,000. I'm assuming that's what I need to pass in order to get gold stars.

Thank you for making this list, I had a lot of 100's but no gold stars, this list made me appreciate overdrive to get the most points possible. I thought it was more by percent so I'd sometimes miss the overdrives that appear right before you continue singing. (Not the long drawn out ones) Here is some of my stats.
