View Full Version : Radiohead and the bands they influence
I've been a Radiohead fan for about a year now and I was trying to get into other bands similar to them. I tried Coldplay. Actually not a very bad band. Then I tried Muse. Not liking them at ALL. Which if the three bands do you listen to?

just radiohead... a few of coldplay's earlier tunes aren't bad for radio fodder, but i don't listen to them on my own time.

That's the thing with Coldplay. Yeah their really mainstream it's just you have to get passed that and listen to some of their songs they don't play on the radio all the time.

Love Radiohead. Both Coldplay and Muse leave me bored.

The Myriad.
Oh wait, misread that.
Eh,
Radiohead -> Muse -> Coldplay. None of them are beating down the doors on my ipod though.

Radiohead is a brilliant band, bar none.
Muse makes some epic-sounding new prog with classical and electronic fringes.
Coldplay can get stuffed.

Radiohead and Muse.
I don't get the hate for either. Same way I don't get the LZ hate.

I'm with you on all counts, CC, though I wasn't aware the Zep hate was so pronounced as to be a problem.

Yeah.... Radiohead + Muse is probably your best choice. They're both overly artsy and annoying.

Radiohead is good, although sometimes I like to tone it down and listen to some Coldplay. Sometimes I think of Coldplay as "Radiohead toned down".

I like them all, but I'm not a huge fan of any of them. Depends on the song, really.

I love Radiohead. Coldplay and Muse both have a few individual songs I like, but on the whole they don't do too much for me.

I really like all 3 of them.
But Radiohead is the number 1 for me. :p

When Coldplay first hit the scene I swear I thought it was just Radiohead. That said, they're not as much a carbon copy as they once were.

Radiohead is classic (not classic rock, just classic in the literal figurative sense of the word, dumbasses). Muse is fine, and fun to listen to when I want to hear watered down prog rock with Thom Yorke singing. I poop on Coldplay. Rush of blood to the head was a pretty good record though.

Radiohead's decent, Muse is too, and Coldplay's a guilty pleasure of mine.

I absolutely adore Radiohead. I don't dislike Muse and Coldplay, but I generally won't go out of my way to listen to them either (I don't mind the odd song by either band, though.)
