My Game Freezes after one song on PS3

Im making a transition from XBOX360 to PS3 on Rockband 2, I played the game for 2 weeks without an issue. Later on...when I played a 3 or 4 or 5 or more than one song set, the game would freeze after the first song. "ok" i said..."lets try again"...I turned off my console, same issue, Played on my other PS3, same issue. Erased the patch and re-downloaded the patch, same issue. I rented another copy and that game ALSO froze after one song. Has anyone Experienced this issue? Please I dont know what else to do.


P.S. This only happens when it feels like it...sometimes i can play for 2-3 hours without a problem, I want to do the ESL 2, But if this occurs, i swear ill break the disc into a million pieces if it freezes on my during the ESL...so im not going to try just yet...lolz....thank you for you guys's input.

I have the same issue but it could occur just playing one song on local tour.

In Rockband 2 the game freezes midsong and never unfreezes. By freezing I mean you hit a notes and it stops scrolling. You can hear the music loop and the crowd. You can fail the song by repeatedly hit the drums for instance until the meter bottomed out on red. Then I have to try to find a way to turn off my PS3. The game disc will disappear from the XMB afterwards if I can get out of the game. I don't know what is wrong. But Sony or Rockband 2 need a patch for this now.

mine only freezes after the song is over and you can see on your screen...1 of X songs completed..it freezes and thats it...

UPDATE: The glitch is not caused by the HDMI cable. Will still freeze with the RCA (yellow red white) connection too.
