it never used to though before this weekend. Used to only take a couple hours for the character to update.
In fact, there are a couple others floating around that have been having similar problems.
It's nothing too serious, just a bit of a downer.

I have the same problem since last Friday. It's the first time it takes more than a few hours.

Play some BOTB, it forces a connection to Rock Central and your data will update.

I created my account on Sunday and my character still don't show the instrument that they use. For example, my vocalist is still showing as using the Guitar.
Any thoughts?

Ya, I'm having the same problem as well. In fact it shows characters that I deleted a long time ago, but not the ones I recently added

Same problem here. Nothing has updated in quite a while.
I'm having this problem, too.

Same here... New Characters and revised Band Rosters that won't show up on my profile.
Tried Battle of the Bands, nothing's changed. I'm guessing this is something up on HMX's end.

Ya, I tried BotB earlier as well as playing online sessions with just the characters and then the full band, still no avail. Best just to wait till Hmx finds this thread and fixes it.

Well then we should keep talking about it. Some of my characters I created over a week ago haven't shown up, and some I deleted 2 months ago are still there...

I got RockBand2 on Saturday and created my character same day. Today he's still not showing up correctly here on the site. I've made no changes to the character since the original creation.
Thanks. :)

I should probably wait a few more days, but I've created a character and played a few setlists but they're still not showing up in the band roster for the website. Maybe I've created too many since it seems like characters are never deleted from the website. Anyway I'll give it a few more days and see what I can do about playing a BOTB. I would really hate to undertake Endless Setlist only to find it not reflected in my account!

I refashioned my band with a new look and everything. And that was a week ago. Still no update for me. So I tried unlinking from the game and then relinking. Bad idea. Now I can't even link to the game anymore.

Still, after all these weeks, I can't get the characters in my band to show what instrument they are playing. Right now, it looks like we have four Guitarists. Is Harmonix going to fix this or what? Why can't we go in and manually edit the instrument being played?

I'm not updating either, and i cant do any BOTB because i don't have any of the songs they want.
Assistance, por favor?

Wow. Nothing yet, huh? Well, it would be nice to have the option to manually change this, o-guys-at-Harmonix. So if someone who can do something about this see this, please let us know if there is a fix coming up. Otherwise, I get to have the world know I have four Lead Guitarists...and this AIN'T Guitar Hero 5. ;)

Yes, this is quite annoying. I was thinking of creating a few stickers and maybe some posters of my character in various outfits, and hell, maybe even one of those figure things, but if this won't work, then I'll just have to hang onto my hard earned money.
Ah, who am I kidding, I'm going to blow it all on one of those wicked lasers and pop balloons around children.

Not to try and start anything, but I'm beginning to wonder if Harmonix even cares anymore. It's been entirely too long now for me to think they have any intentions of ever fixing the site problems. It's been months now and we still can't get our characters updated. And it's got me scared to bother buying any figures for fear that there'd be some problem with the payment function as well. Like taking my money and them not being informed that they recieved a payment and me never getting my purchased product or something. For that mattter, does Harmonix even bother reading these threads anymore? If they did, you'd think they'd have said something on here already. I know they've responded in some threads every here and there, but it still seems like they just don't care to bother fixing the site anymore.

Check page 2 where I respond in the thread.
What problem are you having? Your pictures don't update on their own, you need to take new ones. You also need to make sure you're connected to Rock Central when you make your changes. Go into BOTB as this forces you to connect. Wait a say and you should see your changes.
As far as trusting payments made to RockBand.com, you should worry about that. All of our merch is handled by an outside company the specializes in online marketplaces. Also, when has HMX every steered you wrong?

As far as taking new pics go, I already knew that. I don't like to play BOTB personally, so I never bother with that, but you'd think that everytime the game saves it would change it, but it apparently doesn't. But either way, it still seems weird that after so many pics of the same thing, it finally makes one character change and none of the others do. Taking new pics was obvious. I know better than to think the same image was going to change after it was already taken. But I'll go ahead and try a BOTB. Just know that it's been months since the last change to any of my characters and I'm not the only one.

I like how I play BOTB and it should automatically make my profile update and then when I do it, it doesn't. That's why I was saying Harmonix must not read too many of the comments. It was already stated that other people have done BOTB and it didn't update. So yeah. BOTB doesn't make a difference in updating anymore.

Not to be contrary or rude, but that is not good enough for me, or many others. Not everyone wants to play BOTB, and not everyone can. We just want our friends to know about our bad-ass little band, living happily in our virtual world. We don't want to compete. We just want to look awesome to our friends.
I design websites for a living. It would be so easy to give the player the ability to, at each character's profile (for the character, not for the profile that controls the bands and characters), change their instrument. However, the inaction by HMX shows that they don't want to give that kind of control to their players.
Why not? There are only two reasons. One, there is a serious code-embedded issue in the php that prohibits those changes from being made manually. Okay, I can respect that. Just make it so that we don't have to be in BOT-freaking-B to update our instruments. The other option, two, is that HMX doesn't care. If that is the case, let us with high aspirations know. We'll probably remain loyal to you, but our expectations of the website will change.
Otherwise, this website is a dream come true.
Please answer. The community is waiting. ;)

I like how I've done BOTB, despite not liking it, and having taken new pics several times and I've yet to have my characters' appearances updated. I also like how people assumed I'd think my photos would update themselves without having to take a new pic. I'm not that stupid. I like how I'm told that doing BOTB fixes this when it used to update without having to do BOTB at all and how Harmonix is ignoring that a problem exists at all.
Seriously. It's been months since my characters' appearances have updated at all. This means I can't take any photos that I want because they remain in their old outfits and this also means I won't be buying any figures any time soon because I don't want to buy them with their old looks. And mind you, I definately want some figures. But not if my profile won't update at all.
Is anything ever going to be done? What's the problem exactly? I'm not the only one with this problem, so why is it that nobody seems to be doing anything about it?

I've run several tests and all my character edits went through without problems. Right now replication is about 2 days behind so it'll take time to see character edits.
Did you delete characters then make new ones with the same name? That makes our servers unhappy since character data is never wiped off the databases. If thisis what you did, change your characters name and it should fix the problem.

If you mean that I had an older copy of the game and deleted the save data only to make a new file several months later, then that's what I did. I'll try it, but I'll certainly be changing their names back afterwards.

Nope, never deleted or re-creted. These are characters use right out of the box, sot o speak, on virgin copy of RB2 and a PS3 that has never run RB or RB2.

Well, my profile finally updated. But that still doesn't excuse that there has to be a problem and noone is doing anything about it. Has to be, considering that the profile would update fine before but now it has troubles, even in the exact same conditions.

Im with Maelon on this one.
so question for ya HMXmilo, why do we not have the ability to specify what instruments are characters show in our profile? I am of the belief that this is not as simple an issue as you make it out to be.
not one of my characters shows the correct instruments. which is funny because i have only created the 4. and each character was created by joining the band with the instrument they were meant to play in the band. (ie my drummer was created with the drums, gutarist-gutar, singer-mic)
so not only has my profile not updated, it was created in your database incorrectly in the first place. that to me indicates serious issues with your PHP/sql scripting. so whats the deal? can we expect any sort of fix for this?

Bumping. Hey, someone from Harmonix, please give us at a "we're not interested in working on this" or a "we're talking about it internally and it'll be a while".
Thanks guys. Still love your game!

I'm having similar issues, where my band info wont update, and two band members are mysteriously missing. Searching the forums alot, and looking for solutions, but a bummer. Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be stored on a profile? I have a ton of old rb1 band members that are clogging up the works.
I also had no idea about the delete and re-name issues, (cause they arnt mentioned in game) So now of course my profile is littered with 3 versions of two different guys. I wish there was an option in my profile controls to delete/remove characters. It would be handy.
