View Full Version : Canadian RockBand bundle $199.99 up from $169.99
Looks like the Canadian markup price for the Rock Band bundles (not-released) have risen by $30.00. According to Futureshop and BestBuy websites the markup is now $199.99. Wondering if this is really a price increase ordered by the manufacturer or simply speculation. It used to be $169.99 on both websites, but as we near the release date I can only assume that they've received OFFICIAL prices for the product.

What's up with the inflation on the price for the Canadian market?

Please. Stop. Making. Canada Price. Topics.
We all know about the inflation so just get it at EB or something. Somewhere else.

Somewhere else? You do know that BestBuy and FutureShop have adjusted their prices in accordance to their U.S. counterparts right? However, unless specifically TOLD by manufacturers they do not modify the prices. Being that it is a $30.00 increase I'm wondering if Harmonix ordered an additional $30.00 markup on Canadian bundles.
I doubt EB Games will have a price lower than that of Best Buy or FutureShop, it is VERY rare (I have my pre-order at EB Games btw). Hence, the worry.
If Canadian prices do not concern you, then you really shouldn't have replied to the topic.

Yea well...this is the 51st topic on this.
FS and Best Buy are owned by the same people and as I pointed out in one of the other 50 they're also price gouging UT3 and RB was on "discount" for $179.99 so it's probably just a holiday cash grab.

Don't know, and I don't really think so. If anyone else sells it at $169.99, then you'd automatically get it at BestBuy for $166.99 with a price-match.

Yes, you can price-match, but for those that don't know how much Rock Band is, like parents getting for their kids, will get ripped-off 30$. That sucks for them. :P

or if your close enough to the border you could come buy it in the US and just pay the canadian tax to take it back across the border. Especially since your dollar is worth more now

You need a passport to cross the border now. I have a car and I live like 2 hours away from the border, but I don't have a passport, so I can't.
Importing is an option that I already considered, and I'm still looking on ebay once in a while, but shipping is around 50$ for RockBand, so it would need to be at over 20$ cheaper to be worth it (and for a dollar or two, I would probably buy it at the store to get it faster)

First of all we didn't change the price to $199.99, second there are already plenty of threads in which to complain about Rock Band and Canada.
I think that pretty well sums things up.
