Have you noticed the lack of threads dedicated to single bands? Yeah, there's a reason for that.

Blink-182 isn't my cup of tea. Their most recent album is more tolerable than the others they've made, but that really isn't saying much.

So would it be feeding the troll if I said that I hate Blink 182 and their drummer with every fiber of my being?

Possibly, if it's actually them you hate, not their music/playing ability :)

Honestly I don't listen to many of their songs, not because there bad, but because I never really thought of getting into them.
Overall I would say they are a so-so band.

ok mark hoppus, tom delonge, scott raynor made a band called blink-182, later raynor quit and they had to find a new drummer and found travis barker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all of em are awesome~!!!!!!!!!!!!!~!~!!!!!!!!!~!~!~!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
tom left the band in 2005, all of them got in differant bands
for tom he got started in a band with travis called Boxcar racer!!!!!!!! CHECK THEM OUT and most famous is the band hes in angels and airwaves, mark got into a band with travis a band called +44 ( they are really good!!!!!)
but on the stage at the grammys for the first time in 4 years blink got back together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Played a huge awesome set on jimmy kimmel a few weeks ago, and i have seats for their september concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):)
BLINK4LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They're a so-so band, whom had popularity, and broke up with every intent to get back together to just increase that popularity.
Sorry dude, pretty honor less.

Contrary to popular belief amongst teenagers.
Travis Barker is not the greatest drummer of all time.

What's wrong with hating on blink? Does it make you an elitist if you hate a band that happens to be popular?

Well that lady on the cover sure is good-looking. Though the cover is very telling.

Knowing the RB forum dwellers, HATING blink is obviously okay but HATING ON THEM is just stupid; they're not the ridiculously substance-free metal with ridiculously technical instrumentation and unique time signatures (Looking at you protest the hero) and all the unnessicarily epic prog this forum loves. They're a pop-punk band, which this forum has never had enthusiasm for.
You might as well start another thread about how much you hate the Jonas Brothers.

Nice job generalizing mate. And go ahead and tell Gowie about how no one here is enthusiastic about pop punk.

zomg generalizations
its not like anyone in this thread has been doing that considering everyone has definetely heard all of blink's alubms

I don't see any generalizations about blink whatsoever. Some people gave their input and others expressed how Travis Barker isn;t that talented. You don't need to listen to all of blink's albums to judge Travis Barker's or any band member's skill, the same goes for any band.

And i don't need to get to know every RB.com member or read every thread to state the general musical taste of the forum.
This is where we agree to disagree.

There's as many as alternative & indie fans as metal fans and progressive fans... so yeah, you forgot one demographic, bro.

That is actually a pretty bad oversight, considering how many members on here love Radiohead.

How funny, because Blink 182 is as substance free as you can possibly get
And yeah that's a huge generalization. Blink 182 doesn't suck because they play simple music (some of the greatest bands ever played simple music) they suck because their music is dull, obnoxious, bland and a complete slicked-over bastardization of punk. There's a difference between bands like the Buzzcocks and Descendents and watered-down radio garbage like Blink 182

I'm pretty sure that just about every HoR reg dislikes Protest The Hero.
Honestly, that was a pretty awful generalization, I don't think that describes a single one of us.

stop bending over backwards to make your wittiscms right.
How is there a difference between bands who were BOLD enough to declare that they like food or DARING enough to ask if you've ever fallen in love?
And frankly, Your explanation for why Blink suck could apply to a lot of punk pioneers, like the Ramones, easily.

Well with the Ramones, I don't think they could be called a bastardization of punk.

I mean the first three are subjective, but really the last one would be a injustice to the Ramones since they were among the first punk bands.

I wasn't really citing that in the comparison, but you're 100% correct regardless.
I don't think the ramones and blink are even close to equals for the record; one is a pioneer and the other at best the greatest also-ran in the 90's pop-punk scene.

I don't know what you're talking about... Unless you mean the early-ish nineties around the time of Dookie, and the height of popularity of Bad Religion and Rancid.
