So I'm going to see Green Day w/the Bravery on July 20th at the TD Banknorth Garden. I really have 2 seating options. The first is section 308, row 4 which provides a full view of the stage, but is pretty far away (balcony) and directly across from the stage. The second is section 20, row 13. This gives almost a direct side view and is really close to the band, however I feel it might be kind of bad at the same time because there would be a bad view of the screen and the band would be playing facing forward almost all of the time. If you plug in those seats in the link it gives you a neat 3D model of what it would look like from each seat. Which seats should I go with? Convince me!

I dont know if I'll ever spend money on a seated ticket to a show. General Admission to the mosh is the only way to go.

I have seen many shows and tend to be happier when I am a little farther out and can actually see the show. This came in very handy at Tom Petty last year cause all the "smokers" were out in the lawn where I was. :D

Agree, if I'm not in a pit or on the barrier right at the front it isnt a gig for me.

It depends on the band for me. But most of the time I find the people more enjoyable in the seats. Take Foo Fighters and RHCP back in 2000. I was in the first row of seats and not only were the people cool and I didn't have to get trampled, but Dave Grohl ended up singing Monkey Wrench literally on the barrier wall in front of me. Coolest show and autograph chance ever!

Go with this. Last time I got side seats, I could barely see the band and the amps were blowing my ears out (not literaly)! I actually was able to move to the balcony, where I enjoyed the concert more.

Always ALWAYS go with the full view. Case in point. I went to see The Boss and the E Street Band last January. We originally had balcony seats behind the stage, but because of the way the lighting/speakers were set up, they had to close the section. We got upgraded to litterally directly behind the drumset (and I've got pics to prove).
Great seats right? Well..yes, mostly because you could call out the set changes before anyone else picked up on it. But there's other issues. The band isn't playing to ur part of the crowd. The sound is just a bit off. You're not getting the show experience (lighting, videos etc.) Things like that

if the floor is not available, front view is better.

seeing concerts when you have to stay in a seat is really, really annoying. Unless you're an elderly person.

This. I don't like arena concerts that much anyways now. I like the smaller venues where I can get close to the bands

I completely agree, except I'm not so much for the moshing. Standing in the back or off to the side is just fine with me.

The issue is moshing has gone from stupid fun but always take care of the other people in the pit to drunken idiots throwing punches at everyone and attacking people that have no desire to be in the pit.

You don't have to be right up in the mosh, There's usually a sweet spot right on the outer edge of the mosh where u can really get into the music or jump around with random people singing at each etc. That's the place I like.
If it's a huge band I like i'll push to get as close and as central as possible. Like Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine (worst mosh I've been in), Smashing Pumpkins, QOTSA.
I was tempted to go see The Who earlier this year but they had ONLY seating. How can you enjoy live music sitting down?

same, they all suck nowadays. I'd rather just hang out by the bar and get sloppy, and not have to worry about sweaty shirtless guys whipping me in the face with their cold wet sweaty hair that's down to their ass.

crowd surfing only really works well if it's a huge arena venue or an outdoor venue, otherwise the security just yanks you out too quickly.

I dunno I saw Coheed in what can be described as a Large Rock club, and it worked pretty good, not great, tho. Plus some guy was kicked out for hanging off of the rafters.

I can get claustrophobic in large crowds, so I usually tend to stick to the side or the back. That happened last night with Sum 41...the mosh pit literally broke out all around me. I managed to get out of it, but for the rest of their set, I was stuck in the middle of four pits with only two or three people around me as buffers. I didn't enjoy that whatsoever...towards the end I was starting to get that closed chest feeling thanks to the claustrophobia.
I went to the very back left-hand corner of the crowd for the Offspring and managed to find a pillar to lean against. I was a much happier person during their set.

I was at a festival last weekend and the headline act for sunday night was Paul Weller, formerly of the Jam and I was at the front on the barrier and some drunk woman punched me on the ear during the song Eton Rifles, I bled for a little while but got over it and had an awesome time anyway. Oh and during his first encore he pulled out from no where Roger Daltry to do Magic Bus with an extended mouth organ solo, was so epic. Its gotta be general admission for me.

Well as much as I'd love to get GA tickets, that's really out of the question at this point. Green Day has got to be my favorite band, but unfortunately by the time I was able to search for tickets, pretty much everything good was gone. And yeah, reviews for the Bravery haven't been that great so far; a lot of articles say they're off key and stuff. Still though, I like their stuff a lot too and will make the best of it. At this point I'm thinking the balcony seats would probably be my best option. Still though, more opinions are welcome!

I was up in the blacony for the show. We had our own row to ourselves so we could jump around and sing and throw our arms in the air without bumping into to anyone else! :D

The General admission seats are really the best deal. If u go to Stub hub or ticket liquadator there should be some left. U can find 75 to 93 dollar tickets at those places. I think ticketmaster sells them all for 49.50 everywhere, but GA are all gone at all venues on ticketmaster. So the GA are good deals, as long as you aren't really short and can't see any of the stage. I think i might be going June 29th in D.C. I am sure they will put on a good show whereever they go.

Section 115 Front Row.
The Palace of auburn hills is an INCREDIBLE place to see a concert.
Just found out today that the palace is the largest arena Green Day will play in America. Not in the world tho, because they are gonna play at Wembley In England. They Are huge in England.

The God Forbid/Municipal Waste/Children Of Bodom/As I Lay Dying/Lamb Of God pit was great, everybody was having fun and yet still managing to be careful :p
Also, the Bravery are AWESOME live, idk where these bad reviews are coming from. I haven't seen em since last year (Projekt Revolution) but I hadn't heard 'em before that. Went and bought The Sun and The Moon Complete the day after :)
