I just search YouTube for these songs:
"Rockaway Beach"--Ramones
"I Fought the Law"--The Clash
"Ever Fallen In Love" as made famous by Buzzcocks *
and to my surprise I've never ever heard them.... But the funny thing is that I like them all and I am thinking about getting the whole pack :D
Wow, once again HMX is educating us with good music. Good job guy!

Yeah, considering I Fought the Law has been around since the 60's, and has been covered en masse since then, I'm surprised you've never heard of the song.
Either way, big double plus props to HMX for another set of great songs and great note charts.

The Ramones and The Clash are masters but The Buzzcocks are a cover.
Oh, and could anyone who bought these songs already on their 360 make a PS3 owner happy and upload videos of these songs?

good to hear, i was ticked as a bass player in a real band, that they took out the bass intro to NIB. Glad to see the clash and ramones are masters though.

I laugh at how half the Ramones songs sound like the other half. Is there really any difference between Rockaway beach and Rock and Roll High School? Why does Blitzkrieg Bop and i want to Be Sedated sound like a bunch of their other songs?

We had this discussion in IRC the other day. I didn't even own a CD player till I was in college... so I am as musically illiterate as they come. (Probably why I enjoy these games so much since I am finding these tracks for the first time)
When GH2 was released, they only song on the whole disc I had heard before was "Rock This Town."

I can understand the CD player part, but still... Not having heard *any* of the others on GH2?
You either didn't listen to radio, you covered your ears hear no evil style, or you *never* listened to any kind of rock in the last ~20 years.
Maybe a pure country fan?

Was never big into music growing up. Hell, the only thing my parents ever listed to was polka music (which I hated). I just remember people with their tapes and CD players being an "odd amusement" and it never really occurred to me to get into it.

I knew of The Clash and The Ramones song. The Buzzcocks songs I couldn't think of off the top of my head, but after listening to it I remember it from an episode of "Scrubs".
I may buy the pack on Thursday, I'm undecided. I definately like "I Fought The Law" but the other may or may not be purchased.

The original version - Sonny Curtis in 1959 - is clearly awesome. the Bobby Fuller one is pretty cool, too. The Clash version is fun, though and the drums are way more suited for Rock Band. Green Day's version sucks ass.

I was pretty familiar with all 3 also. Definitely the most fun pack so far, in my opinion. I've always been partial toward punk songs in GH and Rock Band (thought they were the most fun) and these are no exceptions. Although all 3 are pretty easy (2 sightread FC's), they are a blast to play. but they are somewhat repetitive. I Fought the Law is my favorite to play on guitar cause it has some variety to it, more than the other 2 anyway. Definitely glad to have gotten this pack.

Yeah. I was discussing this with a friend of mine. We decided that the "Best Of" the Clash should be in Rock Band.
Then we remembered that their "Best Of" is also their entire discography.
And we still think it should be in Rock Band.
I'm getting this pack on Thursday (when hte PSN updates).

A cover of the Buzzcocks song was in Shrek II movie (it might be the first one, I can't remember). The Shrek movies have a suprisingly diverse collection of music (when they played Hallejulah in the first Shrek movie I was almost in tears I was laughing so hard thinking about the lyrics of the Jeff Buckley version).
P.S. Love all of these songs.

Yes, all three are fairly easy... but they're also great songs and lots of fun. Plus, when you're trying to grind through all of BWT, it's helpful to have some short easy options for making your own setlist. :)
Surprisingly though, Rockaway Beach is one of the hardest songs to gold star. I've FC'd it 3 times in a row with different paths, and I still haven't done it. The high score's only 200 points above me too, so I'm guessing nobody's gold-starred it yet. I'm curious what the number is... my guess is 150,000.

I'm not sure which instrument your guessing the score for but i topped out on vocals this morning at 150.000(i forget the last 3 numbers im sure there were some) i was #1 when i checked this morning but i have probably dropped since then. :D

I was talking about guitar, and I amend my prediction on the number. Unless I'm missing something, a score higher than 148,400 is not possible... and no gold stars. 150,000 is definitely out of the question.

I know that there are different score caps on the instruments so im pretty sure your right about that, unless you know the exact times to use your overdrive to max out your points it would be impossible. also that wasn't the highest i could have gotten i was on expert but it couldn't have been very much higher because i missed like 2 phrases and still got that much. sorry not to have pointed that out earlier i didn't think about it. kudos on getting that close to the top score also. :)

In an interview a few weeks back with a guy whose name I forgot (but hes the one that has the laptop full of thousands of songs, to choose from), it was mentioned that they (HMX) wouldn't use songs that are kind of repetitive, and as an example said something like "That's why you'd never see Rebel Yell in Rock Band" or something like that.
So with that in mind, how do they explain I Fought The Law?
I'm not saying I don't like the song, because I do. I'm just wondering who picked this out thinking it's not repetitive, and if this is put in the game, why not Billy Idol? There are other repetitive songs out there that would be fun to play.

oops... i originally posted about how your score's impossible on guitar, but then i realized you're talking about vocals. :)

You must be thinking of a different time you played through it. ;) If you can miss a single note (other than the first one) and break 148,000, I'd like to see it. I aced the song a bunch of times in a row... I'm sure I'm using star power optimally at the beginning and the end. The only possible room for play is in the middle... and I tried every valid option I saw. I got 148,400 about 6 times, but never anything higher.
i think there might be some confusion i meant on vocals im no where as good on guitar to even dream of getting that much on expert. if you have you have my congratulation thats really impressive to get that much or even around that much 6 times(not sarcasm there I'm being legit) but thats also like i said some instruments get more points for doing better on certain songs like the drums on run to the hills would probably get the most on that song I'm not sure for that one but I'm certain that they all get different caps on what they max at another example would be the bass part on Detroit rock city and on flirtin' with disaster im sure they max out higher than the others.

Ouch. I think a little bit of my soul broke off in my belly. ;)
I'm absolutely ecstatic about the Buzzcocks song, and it's great to see from the youtube link that's it's quite a respectable cover.
Though to go into nit-picky music geek mode, I've always considered this song to be more post-punk than true punk rock, despite it's age (that's not meant to be an insult, I actually prefer post-punk). Personally, I'd include something like "Ignite" by The Damned on the punk pack, and put the Buzzcocks alongside something like old Cure and Joy Division (*drool*).
No complaints, though, except that I'm starting to feel my age! :)

The drums are indeed fun for all three songs. The guitar is fun for I fought the law, and the vocals are really fun for rockaway beach and I fought the law.
I'm not a big buzzcocks fan.. but both me and my wife enjoyed all three songs.
I think intstead of releasing punk packs they should just get every "Me First And The Gimme Gimmes" track and upload it for DLC. That way you get your punk and your 60s, showtunes, R&B, etc. etc. etc.
