New PS3 Sent by Sony - Cannot Recover RB2 Save?!?!

Hi all - I found out yesterday that Sony were going to send me a new, refurb PS3 because mine has been having some issues. So, I used the back-up utility in the PS3 to back my entire hard drive up to an external, as you cannot copy RB song data to a memory card, and I thought this was the only way to back it up. However, upon restoring the data to my new system, the RB saves are nowhere to be seen. Are HMX seriously telling me that I have to create all my characters, download all my DLC and get 900 stars in tour mode all over again (for the third time) even though I'm still using the same PSN account as I've always used? Someone please tell me there's a solution to this......

Sorry to say there is no solution to this. The backup and restore for RB data and song files only works on the same PS3.

Well have none of the devs got anything to say about this? That's shambolic tbh, now I need to create my band with a new name for the third time and unlock Endless Setlist again!!!!

Add me to that club. I can't believe that HMX is cool with someone (aka a loyal CUSTOMER) losing two years of RB/RB2 data along with the fact that I now have to redownload 400+ songs and go thru the trouble of remaking my band/character/custom art/etc.

HMX...just what is the thought behind not allowing the save data to be copied?
