So, Slash's debut solo album (unless you count his years with the Snakepit) Slash & Friends is set to come out in 2010.
The album features Slash on lead guitar (obviously), Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) on bass and Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails) on drums, as well as a different vocalist on every track.
Confirmed guests include - M. Shadows, Ozzy Osborne, Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Travis Barker, Fergie, Flea, Iggy Pop, Chris Cornell Jason Bonham, Andrew Stockdale, Nick Oliveri, Adam Levine, Judgement Day, Lenny Castro, Alice Cooper, John Mayer and Ronnie Wood.
Confirmed working song titles include -
* "We're All Gonna Die"
* "These Last Words"
* "Crucify The Dead"
* "Beautiful, Dangerous"
* "A Saint is a Sinner Too"
* "The Difference Is Huge"
* "Living Up To The Name"
* "**** Off And Drown"
* "If You Kill Me, I'll Haunt You"
* "You Shot Me Well"

I personally am really excited for this, considering I'm a big fan of all of Slash's previous work.
I like the idea of having a different vocalist for every track, the variety of vocal styles will prove interesting.
I'd also be surprised if Nikki Sixx, Lenny Kravitz, Steven Tyler, Alice Copper and Vince Neil don't appear somewhere on the album.
Thoughts?

Wow, thanks for the info, I was totally not in awares of this even existing. Sounds like it has quite a good amount of potential if Slash has more room to express himself musically (unlike in VR which he even admitted he was a bit held back in the solos).

Here's hoping it kicks some serious ass.

Yeah, I'm hoping for his guitar playing to be similar to his first Snakepit album, which is my favorite of all his discography

I've never been a big fan of Slash's solo work. The first Snakepit album was ok, the 2nd blew. And I despised Velvet Revolver. Still, I'm willing to give it a listen

I was looking forward to this but seeing the guest vocalists just didn't impress me,hopefully a few good surprises.

Ronnie Wood's cool. Slash is cool. Fergie is not cool. Somehow that evens out to me not considering buying this album whatsoever.

See, this is what I don’t like. There is no continuity so the album will most likely not flow well, remember Santana’s “all-star” album with the different vocalists? It can produce some good singles, but I am guessing not the best for a sit down album.

See, I liked Fergie in the Black Eyed Peas (hated her solo stuff though)
I'm excited to see what she'll do in a collaboration with Slash, I think it'll be interesting at the very least

Maybe he just likes Fergie. It's not uncommon for Rock guitarists to like Pop artists. I mean, Paul Gilbert likes Spice Girls, and Marty Friedman likes Britney Spears.

I'd really like to look into this.
I like Slash. Just the feel in his playing, I really admire it.

I'm looking forward to this.

The most recent Slash thing I heard was Vengence is Mine by Alice Cooper, and I dug the guitar playing in it.

I don't much care for Slash so I'm probably not going to like this anyway, but two things really struck me: the song titles sound cliched and I agree with those who say the all-star vocal cast will lead to a lack of continuity and flow.

I don't know why but I actually thought Slash was singing on this album for some reason and that was why it was being called his first solo effort. That might have been interesting.

I'm expecting some pretty solid guitar work, but the overall idea sounds pretty meh. Then again, it's not really that far removed from what Santana did for "Supernatural", so who knows?

I'm interested by Cornell. Hopefully this means he'll start moving away from the direction he took on Scream.

I think he just wanted to stretch his legs creatively. I doubt he'll be doing anymore hip-hop oriented stuff.

I really hope not. That was an awful album.

Chris likes to dabble in pretty much everything.

I'll have to check out the Cornell song; it'll be interesting to see if he's still got it, especially since a collab with a rocker possibly means he plans on going back to what he's good at.

Unfortunately I have a feeling that this album won't be very good. I really hope Slash can revive his playing but recently everything he has put out sounds uninspired to me.

I did greatly enjoy Vengeance is Mine, so wouldn't mind seeing another song with those two.
