Yeah, I like Soundgarden quite a bit, but I prefer his work in Audioslave.
I dunno, I'm a big Rage fan, so maybe I'm being a bit biased, but still, I've listen to extensive amounts of all his work, and I must say I enjoy his 3 albums with Audioslave the most
Thoughts?

Soundgarden, but I do enjoy Audioslave quite a bit.

I liked the first and second albums the best, the third was just alright for me.

With all due respect, this is another one of those pointless polls: anyone with any knowledge of Chris Cornell can predict the results. Soundgarden will win by a landslide, Audioslave will garner a few votes, and solo will MAYBE get one or two. The current results (14-4-0) support this.

This would have been more interesting as a discussion thread. People tend to just vote and move on, maybe posting with their choice or replying to something they disagree with, when there's a poll, and since the results of this one could be predicted by a ten-year-old, it makes for a pretty silly thread.

That said, I voted for Audioslave.

I prefer Soundgarden. I think I know what ArmsAreLoud will vote for

Soundgarden, because his voice just sounds better.

That being said, I haven't heard a lot of Audioslave, but his voice sounds shot in the songs I've heard.

Well, fine, if you want a discussion: I prefer Soundgarden, mostly because post-Soundgarden, Cornell's voice sounds shot to me. Audioslave isn't necessarily bad, but I think that given the band's abilities and sound, De La Rocha is a much better fit for them than Cornell could ever hope to be. Not to mention he took on a much more whiney approach in his delivery. And what little I have heard of Cornell's solo work is either incredibly boring or irritating.

But mostly, I prefer Soundgarden because of the voice being shot/whiney vocals bit.

To be honest, I actually prefer Cornell's voice with Audioslave.

Audioslave is such a different band than Rage (same members, I know, but totally different sound) that his singing works well with it. I think Audioslave was the better band and I liked his vocals in it better.

I never got the impression of his voice being "shot". I think he just took a different approach. It wouldn't be the first time people misinterpreted a stylistic change (see M. Shadows and Corey Taylor). His voice is much deeper in a lot of cases with Audioslave, and I've never been a fan of high vocals in general. I can't say I was ever a huge fan of any of these three, but of them the one I like most, and the only one I ever listened to anything by, is Audioslave.
