Hey

Sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm new. I was just wondering if the Beatles Rock Band bundle will be available in Australia. Just I've tried googling it and looking for it, but all I can get are continental Europe, England, and US prices, and no prices (let alone a mention) for a release in Aus.

Welcome to the forums! Glad to see there is another Aussie who is keen for Beatles Day (aka September 9) to roll around!

Nothing has been confirmed by Harmonix beyond the fact that the game will be available in Australia on 09/09/09. In the Aus./NZ thread here (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51626&page=323), some forum-goers have apparently been talking to retailers who are unsure if we are getting the instruments. You are probably best off speaking to someone at your local game store or waiting on some kind of word from someone on the boards from HMX.

Check out this thread (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96065). It's the official Beatles facts and rumours thread. All the info out there about The Beatles:Rock Band in one handy place.

Again, welcome to the forums!

Hey, cheers for the welcome. I asked EB Games, but the guy there checked and said they weren't. In any case, I guess there's always Ebay, or other shops. I'd be surprised if the instruments weren't available in Australia anywhere, but at the same time, I'm almost half-expecting to be left out. One of the drawbacks of not living in the northern hemisphere.

We (at the very least) are getting the game on 9/9/09.

The state of the instruments is still up in the air (possibly RB2 hardware offload?)

I hope we get the bundle. I've already put the money away for it!

According to Kotaku, the bundle is going to be released at a cost of $349.

Ouch.

Game only will be $79.

I'm not totally surprised, but I am glad that at least one retailer in Australia has confirmed a price for the game. I need new drums, so I'll be getting the bundle.

Now all we need is a RB2 release date.......!

That's about the price I expected. When you do the conversions with the US/UK/EU, it works out to be pretty comparative, so we aren't getting ripped off.

I'm just so happy that a retailer of some repute (I love JB as much as I can love any multi-million dollar corporation) has finally confirmed the game and instruments will be coming on 09/09/09.

I'll have to get down to JB and pre-order ASAP.

How much did you guys (AUS) have to pay for the GHWT bundle?

How much did you guys (AUS) have to pay for the GHWT bundle?

According to this article (http://au.gamespot.com/news/6197224.html?sid=6197224&part=rss&subj=6197224) from Gamespot, the RRP for the GHWT bundle was $329.95. From memory, this is about what it retailed for when it first came out (I can't remember any shops doing a discount on it, although I could be wrong on that).

Not sure if this info is useful to other Aussies, but I asked about preordering at my local EB Games and Gametraders (in Indooroopilly, QLD).

EB still didn't have a release date in their system, but they expected to have the game only, in store by early November.

Gametraders were accepting preorders for the game for $99, with an expected release date of 9/9 but they said that they weren't planning to stock the bundles. Also they didn't have any of the other Beatles instruments on their system.

So, I preordered the bundle at JB Hifi.

I would definitely be going with JB. It seems like they are the only ones definitely getting the game AND bundle on 09/09/09. The game is $20 cheaper at JB to boot.

EDIT: Perhaps someone here knows - is JB getting the additional guitars in stock? I'm keen to get my hands on a Gretsch but I'm unsure if I want to order from overseas (problems with warranties etc.)

I can confirm that the RRP of $329.95 is accurate.

Sadly, this is because I made a horrible mistake. I bought it from GAME. So they, at least, weren't discounting it on release.

I seem to recall seeing it sold at JB for closer to $300 though. Could be wrong.

Off that ugly topic, it seems that JB will be the place to go for TB:RB bundle. Which means the Black and Gold Church will be getting more of my cash. :D

EB got back to me today to let me know that they will also be selling the bundles (pre-orders only) and confirming that they will definitely have them on 9/9, but the price will be $395, so JB still looks like the best place to go.

Wow!!! $400! EB's definitely tries to get their monies worth. JB's consistently beats them on price for 95% of the titles that I look for (PS3, Wii and PC).....

I'll be pre-ordering with JB's!

$395! That's ridiculous.

I really can't understand why you would buy anything from EB. Invariably they are more expensive than JB or the department stores (Big W in particular). Even GAME aren't quite as bad (they have an online price of $69 for L:RB, and I notice they are matching the JB price of $79 online for TB:RB). It can't just be having a lot of locations; JB's are hardly scarce for most people, and Big W/Target/K-Mart are vastly more prevalent.

I will be getting the full set and a gretch if possible as I only have rock band 1 stuff and I will need another microphone for harmonies.

Although the RRP for Guitar Hero World Tour was indeed $329.95 on release, I remember JB Hi-Fi, Big W, Kmart, etc selling it at around $289. That's how much I paid for it from pre-ordering at JB, at least.

That said, I am still undecided as to whether I'll buy the bundle or the game only. Ideally I'd buy the Gretsch to replace my failing GH:WT guitar, and the game, but as has been mentioned, there's no sign of the Gretsch or the Rickenbacker in Australia.

Well MightyApe and EB both list and price the stand alone game only, no sign of the hardware yet.

I pre-ordered the bundle at Game yesterday as I already had over $200 of store credit. They will sell it for $369 but the guy volunteered that they would match any price within the shopping centre. Luckily for me JB Hi-Fi is virtually next door.

Ive got a deposit with EB at Watergardens Shopping Centre in Melbourne priced at $395 and I rang them to say that JB had listed it it $350. Theyre matching it. JB as of last week didnt have a listing while EB did, so Im going with EB. WHo will actually get it first?

Were they certain it was the full bundle? Seems we might be stuck with a half bundle over here in NZ if EBGames is anything to go by.

I searched the Perth for any sign of the Guitar and Game bundle, no luck. The only responses I got were for the stand alone or the bundle.
(I asked at GAME, Gametraders, EB, JB & Harvey Norman)

However, the best idea I have is to wait. Closer to the release date all the major retailers will most likely have a bit in their catalogues about what's available for TB:RB.

If I don't get my Gretsch, I'll be pissed off.

Any places selling online?

They aren't selling a Game + Guitar bundle for TB:RB, not even in the US or in Europe. It's the LE Bundle or the standalone game only worldwide (some places may do an ad-hoc guitar bundle/deal but that's on a retailer by retailer basis, not anything official).

Sadly, I'm doubtful that we will see the Gretsch or the Rickenbacker in Australia.

Yeah, there are definitely places that are getting the full bundle in Australia. I myself have a pre-order for the LE Bundle from JB Hi-Fi, but both Game and EB are also taking orders as well.

JB (http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/) is the only one listing online sales of the bundle. You will have to consult their shipping policy to see whether they will ship something like the LE Bundle overseas.

I read that only four stores will stock the bundle: JB HiFi, Game, Dick Smith and The Gamesmen. Checked a Game store and the guy said they were only accepting preorders, that would wouldn't have the bundle in stock and that that particular store only had one more Xbox 360 preorder left. Went to JB HiFi and was told that store would only have ten bundles and that JB only had 610 bundles Australia wide. I placed my pre-order with JB.

Just want to point out that this was what I was told, I'm not saying it's 100% fact as the store people may have had their information wrong.

Rock Band was only $288 (instruments and game). So I think we are getting a little gipped off here.

Besides, Rock Band Hardware sucks in my honest opinion.

ajhodge

Cost of TB:RB in the US is $US250. Add the state taxes if you buy in a store (or add the delivery fee if you buy online) and covert to $AU and you get $335, so $AU350 for JB HiFi doesn't sound so bad.

So far we have only had RB1 equipment sold in Australia. RB2 equipment is supposed to be much better (I haven't tried it firsthand). My understanding is that GH equipment is better than RB1 but RB2 equipment is better than GH.

And I forgot to mention that this time we are getting the bundle at the same time as the rest of the world, not over a year later.

when i pre-ordered my bundle at JB Hi-Fi (in joondalup WA) about 2 weeks ago,i asked how much it would be, and the guy said it was down on the computer system at $270, but this was an unconfirmed price.
i'm willing to pay the $350 or whatever the RRP is but if it turns out to only be $270 i will be so happy

EDIT: Next time i go ill ask about the price again, see if anything is confirmed.
and that's on PS3 but i'm presuming it will be the same price on all consoles.

I've heard from First Games in NZ that they are going to try and import some bundles themselves, since the industry is so lame. But they most likely wouldn't have them by release day.

Confirmed NZ release I think.

Mighty Ape has listed the full special edition for an amazing $360NZD, which is cheaper then the US!!!!

Well, I asked him if I could pre-order Beatles Rock Band. He looked surprised, then puzzled, and said, "er......yeah?" veeerrrry slowly.

Then, while completing the transaction, he looked like someone had just told him he'd won a billion dollars, only the reality hadn't sunk in yet.

Still, who cares? In fourteen days time I'll have it, and he can look as puzzled as he likes!
