i could get it from the states, but....the reason it got delayed again according to harmonix is due to the guitar issure they're having...
they dont want to release a bunch of bundles with broken guitars that dont do star power and other problems so they're taking the time to fix it...
now we have to wait until January, so crap!

Not to be a pessimist (though it's so easy to be a Canadian pessimist when rock band is concerned), but I wonder if perhaps delaying it until late January has anything to do with the 60 day warranty?
You know... release it 60 days later in Canada and THEN open up the defective returns system to Canadians, thus pilfering an importer's ability to RMA?
Luckily I think I'm the only person in calgary, alberta with a fully working rockband set!
:D

Retail stores are NOT a reliable source for game release dates.

Retail stores are NOT a reliable source for game release dates.
This argument was rampant in the previous "Canadian Delay" thread prior to it's Nov 20th release in the US. It's a crap argument though. Last time it was rumored to be a delay (because of retailer's date changes) and it turned out to be true in Canada, and it will this time as well. Though retailers aren't the MOST reliable source, which would surely be Harmonix or EA themselves, they do not change their dates for no reason at all. If several retailers have reason to believe it's coming late and that reason is strong enough for them to change their release dates, you can bet there's a delay.
The main problem here is we hear it from them long before we ever hear it from the game company themselves, which seems a little back-asswards to me. If they can tell the stores, why can't they tell the fans on the official website?
This situation annoys even me, and as stated previously I do live in Canada and my copy is functioning fully. I can't imagine what other Canadians must be going through!
Buuiiild uuup... build up... BUILDUP... oh noes letdown. Buuiiild uuuup... build up... BUILDUP... oh noes letdown! hehe

This is the suckiest video game release in the history of video game releases thus far. And suckiest is the only adjective to describe how bad it is.
Way to go Harmonix. Way to freakin' go.
Studio of the Year? Yeah right

Anyone who is REALLY itching to get the game and who is resourceful enough should buy it online like hundreds of other Canadians, myself included, have already done.
If that's important, you'll make it happen.

And then be screwed when your instruments break and you can't replace them under warranty until the Canadian release date :P

Two words.
No warranty in Canada yet.
I'd rather not have my guitar/drums/mic crap out on me and be a sitting duck until they release it (which I doubt they ever will. Whatever happened to equal treatment)

... Can we get some ****ing official word for once? I'm sorry for whining and *****ing and I know half of you Americans are going to call me out on this but I'm just ****ing tired of this. Can you blame me? I just want to have Rock Band before Christmas so I can play with my cousins who only come on this one day of the year. But I guess that's too much to ask for. Thanks a bunch Harmonix.

Yes. Instead of ignoring us for 3 weeks just tell us now.

My Fender still works OK, but it currently sits in a corner collecting dust while we rock the Les Paul and X-Plorer. As for the drums - if they break or become unresponsive, I'll play guitar-only until they release drums up here.
In order to play this game now, going warranty-free is a risk I'm willing to take.

I agree, even though I'm setting up for some massive dissapointment.

For the record, I called my local EB Games (3 of them) all still stating that the release date is December 20th. I'll probably call again this weekend and ask if they got the shipment in, if they didn't I'll just assume it has been delayed again.

Could be worse.. wasn't GTA4 delayed by 6 months? Wasn't Mass Effect massively delayed? TF2 10 years in development? 3 years for a carbon copy Halo sequal?
Ahh whatever. Too much speculation in this thread, and per board policy we do not condone unconfirmed speculation and rumor, especially in mean spirits.
