So I got a new SD Card yesterday. The Transcend 4GB 133x. I got this one because I know of several people who use this card with Rock Band 2.

This card works fine with my PC and the Wii, but whenever I try and use it in Rock Band 2, right after it asks if I want to use the SD card, it says that the addon content is corrupt and it can't read the SD card.

I've deleted my DLC saves, deleted my Rock Band 2 save file, and even done a full blown format of my SD card, and I still get the error. I used a 1GB SD card just fine before this.

Any ideas?

Boot up RB2 w/ your 1GB card in the Wii. Once you get to the main menu (Quickplay, Tour, etc), swap the 1GB for the now formatted Transcend & you should then be OK. At this point, if you leave the Transcend in your Wii & never power down below Standby/WiiConnect24 mode (yellow power light), it will continue to function fine.

If you either:

-Power down completely (red power light)

-Check Data Management w/ the Transcend card in (such as to check block count remaining)

-Happen to click on the SD icon on the Wii Channel menu (access SD Channel menu) w/ the Transcend in.

...you will end up w/ the same msg using the Transcend. At that point, you just need to reboot RB2 w/ the IGB installed, then do the swap @ the meain menu again.

actually i've had the same problem because i had a 512mb for DLC an i saw that i needed more so i bought a 4gb sandisk and i was really happy about it and when i turned rockband 2 on i found out that it didnt work in it so i searched around on the net and found out tha SDHC cards (above 2gb) will not work with rockband 2 wii... i wish harmonix could make a patch fixing this because its pretty annoying, So ur 4gb will at work on rb2

This isn't SDHC, it's an SD card, I think it's the only 4GB SD card.

Anyways, I thought about trying something like what the second poster said.

I'll give it a try and report back.

If they were allowed to, I'm sure they would. Unfortunately, Nintendo has a silly policy disallowing game patches that prevents this.

It didn't work.

It just freezes when I try and enter quickplay.

And if I reboot after the swap it just asks me if I want to use the card and then gives me the error again.
