In a week I'll have enough muscle stamina and drum skill to finally conquer you on hard. The only hard song I have left. Then I will fart on your grave.

Yep, your pain is felt by many. A quick search will find you a couple other threads that have some good hints/tips on how to tackle this sucker. Good luck finishing this one off!

I don't really need any tips. I'll just play until I get better. It's what I did for other hard songs (F you The Police intro). The main problem is that I'm not fast enough yet. I'll be able to get it soon.
i was just ranting.

Yeah this song is kicking my ass.
When it comes to difficulty Run to the Hills > Won't Get Fooled Again. But the latter is more fun.
I prefer vocals on Run to the Hills.

That's true only on Hard and lower; not on Expert, from what I've heard.
Anyways, I just beat it! My trick was taking the guitar solo section (where I've always failed) and playing it just as an 8th note beat, skipping the off 16th note snare hit (steady 8th notes are easier than steady 16th notes, which are easier than galloping 16th notes.) That held my meter fairly constant with the bass drum quarter notes in that section, and everything else was held together by sheer desperation.
So, my recommended strategy for the newbie drummer struggling through Run to the Hills:
1. Get the intro down; it's the easiest part of the song. Do this in practice mode if you're having trouble.
2. On the main verse, take it into practice. Make sure you're playing the bass drum half note beat correctly, and not adding extra pedal hits out of panic. You should be able to hit about 75% on verse sections, and you'll be surviving.
3. On the guitar solo, take it into practice. Here's the order you should learn the beat in:
A. Only hit the bass pedal
B. Only hit the bass pedal and the drum that goes with it each time, with your right hand.
C. Hit the red drum with your left hand between bass drum/right hand hits.
When you've got this down, you should be hitting 70-75% of notes through Gtr Solo and Gtr Solo A.
4. Play the actual song, and make sure you hit the easy overdrive phrases to pick yourself back up.

IMO I think hard Run to the hills is harder than expert(I've beaten every song on expert), because its harder to do triplets then a constant speed(for me at least)
my advice for hard is just to screw the yellow completely(not the intro, the verses and ****), so just keep hitting the red at a constant speed so that every yellow that comes, you'll hit the red instead(this will of course count as a miss, but you won't fail) and hit the bass as well. Since the bass and red count the most for your rock meter you will be able to pass the song, which is good enough especially if its the last song on hard.

I was in the same boat as basically everyone else when it came to that song on hard. Finally managed to beat it the other day , only to be disappointed with no new shiny set of drums as a trophy. OH WELL.

I got it on expert until they throw in the triple bass hits. For some reason, with my hands going so fast on the red, it throws me off. I think its cause I'm a bit tired by that point. ah well, almost there. Just that and WGFA left (which similarly I get to a certain part and *plop* )

This song is the toughest when you add all the parts up. I thought that Won't get fooled again was tough, but very doable. This song and the intro to Next to You can tear the ass out of you. The Metallica songs are challenging also, and should be.

I finally got it, oh my god. Complete and utter luck getting through it. But what followed was the sweetest rendition of Pleasure (Pleasure) I've ever heard.

I hate Run to the hills on hard, but love it on Expert! This could be because I am a drummer ans Expert is the way the song is played by the original artist. However after playing both I think it is a little harder on Hard. Think about it: On hard it is a galloping patten and the bass drum hits every other beat. On Expert it is a straight pattern and the bass hits every beat. To me the expert is easier buy anyway you look at it RTTH is a hard song to play.

Wooo, I'm super excited. I can almost play the triplets consistently.

Eh...the song is beating me down on hard.
What is strange, is that I have no trouble on most of the songs except this and Reptilia still...I don't know why, but I just can't do it right.
Oh well.
I think I might move up to expert for a few songs, then go back and finish Run to The Hills....
I still kinda suck on hard though....I'm not at the level I would like to be.
