I'm seeing a sizeable amount of suggestions for metal songs. It seems to me that a lot of people are picking what songs they want based on the insane guitar and drums. Okay, so you want to rock yourselves to death... understandable. But it seems not too many people are picking songs based on vocals. Which is a shame, because they are now just as big a part of Rock Band as any other instrument. Just a thought.

i agree...i think we need something more than metal...maybe like a soft rock or something...or at least something that people are able to sing to...plus, they can always add more metal songs to the downloadable section online...
lets take acdc for example...as much as i love acdc and their music, i wouldnt want too much of it in the game because i can't stretch my voice to sound like that....so, im saying keep alot of the high pitch, acdc style music out of the game itself....keep it for download

I can't see singing a song you know being fun if it's just BREE BREE BREE BLAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! over and over again. I can see that hurting your throat.

Metal vocals are fine so long as you know how to do them. As for metal though, I don't see 1 single song announced on Rock Band that has anything to do with what I listen to most likely for that reason.

But a lot of people don't. I don't. My brother can pig squeal a few times but says his throat hurts for about a half hour after he does. You could just sing the lyrics clean and on pitch, but that would sound goofy.
I'm actualy worried about the guitars in the game. The guitar parts in the 16 songs named sound fun, but not particularly hard. But it makes sense that they're keeping the final songs hidden.

If you're throat hurts, you're doing it wrong. It really is just like singing a note by replicating the sound you hear. Screaming is a great thing that is an "acquired" taste. I can't stand some 80's music purely because I think their vocal work is awful but I am sure the same saying goes for them.
As of right now though, they have not even announced 1 song that has screaming. Why do you guys have your panties in a bunch? For the bonus songs I think a darkest hour song would be amazing. They would even put convalescence in as a campaign song because you can sing it at the proper pitch and still sound great with it.
They are not confining you to sound like anyone is another thing you have to remember. Great covers rarely resemble the same exact sound as the original which makes them unique. They aren't saying you completely need to replicate the famous bands in the game by any means, but instead, just stay in tune with the song.

Well, if you put in Hammerfall, or Iron Maiden, or Priest, or Primal Fear....thats gonna be a great challenge for singers.
I know many people are suggesting Cannibal Corpse...but I think its not very plausible for the game to work well with death metal.

there are alot of incredible vocalists that do both clean vocals and screams in their songs(mikael akerfeldt for example). theres alot more skill that goes into metal vocals than you think.

yeah, even if they dont like em, people cant deny growl vocals are just an amazing talent. singing like that, yet keeping in tone and following melody is amazing.

and i dare the topic starter to tell me he could tour as the vocalist of a black metal band and not lose your voice or bust a vocal chord after the first night.
