Oh, I forgot about Fingerbang! Still, Faith+1 combines hip cool music with inspirational lyrics. That can't be beaten.

Yeah I just think Nirvana had alot of decent songs. On any giving day Van Halen or GNR could both be in my top 5 I watch alot of their live footage on Youtube. AC/DC could probably make it into my top 10 I know its immature but my favorite song from them is " You Shook me All Night Long" ill actually watch the music video right now =)

I've always loved Priest, they're not as consistent as Maiden, but their best far outstrips Maiden.

Coincidentally, I've recently decided to get off my ass and listen to at least a chunk of Priests albums. I've heard Screaming for Vengeance and British Steel in full... I'm thinking of going to Painkiller, but I'm also tempted to just go in order.

I'm also in a pretty rare metal mood. Not that I don't like metal, I just can rarely listen to nothing but metal for extended periods of time.

imo, steel, vengeance, defenders of the faith and painkiller are their 4 best, not necessarily in that order. be sure to check out defenders and painkiller next. also id highly recommend their late 70s live album unleashed in the east, its absolutely fantastic and is a great summary of their best 70s songs made even better in a live setting because the production of their 70s albums was very poor.
