no, I can get last years madden for less than 5 bucks so if I get the urge to play a football game I'll just go buy that. I picked up 07 awhile back for 1.99 it was decent fun for a weekend time killer with a few friends.

Madden is a terrible football game. I stopped wasting my money after Madden 2005. They don't change hardly anything each year and the game is still terrible. The best football games made were by 2K Sports. Until 2K Sports gets the NFL license back, I'm not buying no more Madden games.

They lost me with 07. It was terrific up until that point, at which point they did change it (yes, they make changes to Madden), and broke many things that worked well.

I want to like Madden, I really do. I enjoy football, I enjoy video games, and many of my friends play Madden regularly. Every year, I give it a try. Every year, I just can't get in to it. I don't know if it's the controls, or the fact that I don't normally play sports games, or what.

I keep hearing that the 2K football game was good, but I haven't tried any of those games yet. It really sucks that EA has exclusive NFL rights, because football fans that don't like the Madden have no other options.

It's funny how EA has the football license and make dreadful football games, but when EA had the baseball license they made great baseball games (MVP Baseball 2005) and then gave the license away to ironically 2K Sports who makes dreadful baseball games, but great football games. Why can't they just switch sports. 2K Sports takes over football and EA Sports takes over baseball.

Madden's too complicated for my tastes. Its more deep than it has to be when it comes to plays. Im more of a Backyard Football kind of guy.

Same. I don't want to have to study game film to play a video game.

I'm gonna rent it before I buy it. Just like with what I did with 09.

I'll tell myself no, but then I'll end up buying it anyway because online franchise mode is just way too appealing

Personally, I like Madden and sport games in general, but I can't justify spending 60 bucks on the same game every year with updated rosters.

I usually buy all sports games in 4-5 year intervals. I bought NHL 09 last month, and that's the first I've owned since 03. I haven't bought Madden since 06, so I'm probably due to purchase another one.

I'll rent Madden 10 and see if it's worth the $40 I'll buy it for after real football is done for the year.

I might get it. The last I had was '07. The last game I played on that was February '08. Giants vs Patriots. Brandon Jacobs killed me in that game. Little did I know...

I rarely play sports games. Madden is WAY over hyped.

The one sports game I do play is Mario Power Tennis for my 'Cube.

I'll probably get Madden this year. I don't own a current gen Madden (I have 08 for PS2) so it's probably time to step into that realm. The improvements look legit this year, so I'm hoping it's good.

On another note, NCAA Football 09 was solid so hopefully they take the good from there and improve.

I doubt it. Reason being, I don't really know just HOW well I would do at online, whereas, say Halo ODST, I know I can do decent, because in Halo 3 Social Slayer [Which is the most fun for me], I normally do pretty great.

I know I'm not the best Halo player, far from it, but also far from the worst.

But with Madden, I really don't know if I could consistently win, or at least have good games...

Is fantasy draft still around?

Since Madden '99 and NCAA Football 2003, I've gotten every game each year they come out. However, this year I'm not getting either. Like what's been said, it's basically the same game every year (which makes me feel even more dumb for dropping $60 every year they come out). Each year, they'll throw in an improvement or new feature (playmaker control in '04, hit stick in '05, vision cone in '06, lead blocker control in '07, etc., etc.) I actually picked up NFL 2K5 for about $5 w/ shipping from Amazon; it's amazing that it took EA this long to get all the features included in one of their games that have been in 2K5 for years.

Plus, since picking up RB2 I don't feel like I'd get enough replay value to warrant the purchase since I still play that quite a bit. Just my $.02.

I'll pick up NCAA Football 2010, since it's million times better than Madden ever was. I'll pass on Madden

Not entirely.
They do up the graphics and do other little stuff. So it's NOT the same game every year.

But no, I don't like sports games. Period.

Yeah, other little stuff. Stuff that can be remedied with a patch, rather than a $50 game every year

I will but not pay $60 for it. Madden has disappointed me the last 2 years so this year i'll wait.

I actually might test it out on the iTouch to see how well they can make it on a portable device like that. The Tiger Woods game is addictive beyond belief.

I was going to. I thought 09 was a pretty big jump from 08. Then I played NCAA 10 wich is one of the worst football games I've ever played. Now I'm questioning it. They need to do a lisence swap,EA can have baseball and 2K can have football.

Yeah, I said that before. They need to switch their sports. EA's MVP Baseball 2005 was the best baseball game I've ever played until this years MLB 09 The Show. I still break out my PS2 to play NFL 2K3 from time to time. What a great game that was.

I refuse to spend 60 dollars a year for updated rosters and new rookies.
