So I have downloaded all the Downloadable songs from the Marketplace. My issues lies in the fact I don't have internet access at my apartment and for some reason I can't access the songs without being on XboxLIVE.
If i take my harddrive or Xbox w/ Harddrive to a friends house with internet, We can play the songs forever, the second I lose LIVE connection, the song disappears, like it was never there. Even if in the middle of playing it.
I have heard that this isn't the case for many people, in fact no one I know has this issue but me. Was wondering if anyone else on this site encountered it, and if they did, what they did to resolve it?
Thanks in advanced.

Microsoft's DLC copy protection links downloads to the Gamertag and original console it was downloaded on. If you move the hard drive or switch consoles, you must be connected to XBL for the DLC to work.

I'm having this problem too - There has got to be a workaround with Microsoft. It's not my fault that their 360s keep dying. I had one die 2 weeks ago, so half of my DLC is ok offline, the rest isn't there. Has anyone contacted Microsoft tech support about this?? Can the reset the serial number that your DLC is bound to?

I have this problem to. So in order to fix it I have to take my console and my hardrive with my gamertag on it, and I can access my content again..?

To access your content you must do one of two things:
1) Use the same gamertag and console that it was originally downloaded on, online or off.
2) Be logged into XBL with the same gamertag that downloaded the content, on any console. You must be online.

Actually, gamertag is not required. On the original console you did the download to, any gamertag can access the DLC.
2) Be logged into XBL with the same gamertag that downloaded the content, on any console. You must be online.
Yeup, this is the alternative. You must have either the original console, or the gamertag that did the download must be logged in to XBL. You never need both.

Honestly though, other than copying someone's COMPLETE gamertag and harddrive, how can this be a true problem?
I find this to be a hassle more than anything else. When I bring rock-band over to a friend's house, I do NOT want to bring my entire 360. I want to just lug the instruments with me, and the harddrive. They don't have internet.......so why should I not be allowed to play my downloaded songs on their Xbox with MY harddrive and the songs I BOUGHT, because they don't have the internet?

Damn strait. That is put very possibly the best I have yet to hear it put. If I buy a cd I am not bound to play it only on the first cd player I use it on. As fas as XBOX'es DLC, for 3 bucks a song I should be able to put the damn thing on my phone at that price.
