I have emailed both Heavenly (the French melodic speed metal group) and Vision Divine (basically a speedy Italian mix between Dream Theater and Coheed and Cambria).

I just sent the emails, so I will post again if I get emailed back.

Haha if they both decide to put a song or two in the network, people may get confused when they see two Heavenly's.

If the bands get added to the list in the OP, they should simply be listed as such:
Heavenly (British twee pop)
Heavenly (French melodic speed metal)

Also (unrelated to the Heavenly thing), I have contacted Bury Your Dead (heavy/hardcore metal) through their MySpace.

I've been skimming a few pages in this thread this thread and couldn't help but notice:

-Major label bands are for the main Music Store, and many of the bands I see already have songs in the game. They probably can't even do this without the label giving the okay first.
-I'd imagine Harmonix bands are well aware of this, and know more about it than any of us.

I just attempted to contact Gamma Ray, but the mail keeps bouncing. Can someone try for me? Their website email address is mail(at)gammaray.org. I really want to notify them of this opportunity. Thanks, and if anyone sends a mail successfully, please post back to let me know! :)

I just shot off emails to Sparrow Records (a large Christian Label), Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band (a bluegrass artist) and Shadow Mountain (an LDS label).

I figure there are a few other that wouldn't mind a few Chrisitan type songs in the game.

EDIT: Just looked at the web site. It'd be awesome if you got a reply back! I really want Switchfoot and Sanctus Real to be in the game!

Jeff Healey

That would be so sweet. And not his radio stuff, his stronger Bluesy stuff. Good call there, I'm a big fan.

I actually agree with you. I know its not manly, but (when I was a kid) I used to like that song when it would play on the radio.

So, if I were to email a band about Rock Band Network, what sort of info should I give them? Is there a link I can direct them to that helps clarify everything? I have some bands in mind that I would love to be in the game, like Rishloo and Dredg, and I just want to know the best way to do it.

They are still together? I loved their first two EPs! Her Ghost was a great tune... OH, and Run... The only Goth band I really ever enjoyed!

I will have to break out those CDs when I get home.

I hate to say this but I don't see the point messaging any major label bands. Some posters even mention writing bands we already have in RB. Why would they drop down to the "inde" RBN and not continue to be a DLC/disc band.

for what its worth I seen Lita Ford and Toby Keith at the Sturgis Bike Rally, and during her meet&greet I asked her if she heard about the RB network she replied "I believe a few of my songs are supposed to be on that game, but in the meantime you could send a message to my MySpace about this Rock Band network."

I sent her MySpace a message and when she replies I will post a screen capture of the email to verify for you guys.

I'd contact The End Records, but I can't figure out what category it would go under on the contact page. Also, I can't find out how to contact Maru Music at all. If someone could figure out either of these labels and take care of them, it'd be appreciated.

The former is a label specializing in eclectic music, the latter publishes Japanese music in America, which might count as a sort of middle-man... like... thing.

I feel like a jerk for asking you guys to do it, but has anybody contacted Oingo Boingo and/or Danny Elfman yet? I would love to have Boingo's stuff on Rock Band.

This (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153483) should help you out. Its a template and all you have to do is put the name of the band in the blank. I hope you get a response from Dredg! Bug Eyes would be a blast!

Yeah, a thread like this needs much more frequent updates.

Der_Lex
08-12-2009, 08:17 PM
Unfortunately, none of the moderators really have the time to keep a thread like this updated, and other than us, only the original poster can edit a post.

If the OP of this thread isn't around any more, what could be done is that someone is willing and able to do more frequent updates copy/pastes the info in the first post and starts and maintains a new thread.
