GHWT Drums Compatibility PS3

I know that the GHWT drums are compatible with Rock Band 2 and not Rock Band 1 on the PS3. What about if you export all of the RB1 songs and play them in RB2? Is the lack of compatibility with the GAME ENGINE or the SONG PROGRAMMING itself? Anyone actually tried this?

Game engine. RB1 songs will play fine in RB2 with the GHWT drums. Just remember that certain RB1 songs don't transfer (Enter Sandman, Paranoid, Run to the Hills [and Monsoon in Europe]).
