No jazz, prog or blues among the choices but six different varieties of rock / metal? Where's the expand option?

The poll options are boring. I'm looking forward to seeing genres that wouldn't get much coverage otherwise: jazz, shoegaze, fusion, blues, funk, ska/reggae, and neo-psychedelia.

Other (specify):

MOAR PROG!

I've already contacted: Porcupine Tree (via a band member who is a friend), IQ, Marillion (who has responded), Spock's Beard and Pendragon.

These extend by solo project associations to: Transatlantic, Neal Morse, Flower Kings, Jadis and perhaps even Dream Theater (since Mike Portnoy moves in the whole Transatlantic circle).

Poll is silly because it only accepts one option. Anyways, answer is metal of course. (pass the death and thrash though)

ps. I hate dividing music into genres..

Id also like to see some Primus.

because Primus is a genre of its own.

I'd really like to see new genres and neglected genres get some lovin'....RBN may be the best bet to see some ample helpings of stuff like metal sub-genres (death, black, melodic, etc), techno, synthpop, industrial, singer-songwriter/acoustic, jazz, reggae, fusion, hip-hop, R&B, indie, world music, country, disco/dance, pop....just off the top of my head.

One genre that I *wouldn't* expect to see much from (unfortunately) is Classic Rock, except for modern revivalists like Bang Camaro. The simple fact of the matter is that the true classic rockers from the 80s and earlier are probably (a) dead; (b) too old and crotchety to get involved in that newfangled music video game stuff; (c) impossible to obtain working masters from; or (d) too damn big and rich and famous to take the DIY route on RBN; the classic rockers interested in the game are far more likely to go through HMX channels for RB2 instead of RBN.

Goth, rockabilly, New Wave, hair metal, jazz, fusion, surf rock, ska, reggae, Motown, R&B, disco, soul, and black metal.

I think you pretty much have it right here. I'd like to include funk as well, maybe some proto-metal.

Edit: And real emo.

i'd like some more Classic Rock.
So you are working on the assumption that older bands are going to come to RBN now.

Because a "new" band can't be labeled "Classic Rock".
