well i got my new one finaly. (ordered on 11/21 recieved 12/10) i cracked open the new one to see if it was diffrent and it was. they replaced the micro switches with some type of magnet sensor thing. simalar to how the bass pedal works. when you strum the magnet gets close to the sensor and activates the note. been playing hard/expert and its doing great. game seems to be easier with it.
sorry i didnt take pictures so dont ask. but it seems this design will work too.
just thought you guys would like to know. sorry if someone already posted this

this is EXTREMELY old news
Does that mean you have to be an ass about it?

Old news or not, I'm glad to have one more positive data point. The first production run is clearly screwed up, but as long as HMX/EA is making things right (by shipping out fixed/stable products), consumers should be OK. Not perfectly happy, but OK.
I'm still annoyed by the EA site's "blow next to the strummer to fix it" step, though. If you do this, and it works, you have a broken guitar. Not today, maybe not tomorrow when you blow on it again, but eventually.

Positive or not if you do a simple search of the fourm you would find numerous posts on this very subject. All it does is push new questionbs and information further down.

I just got my replacement guitar on Monday as well, and I've already ordered another RMA for it. Fast strumming is impossible (either just downstrumming or up/down strumming). When using the Fender Rock Band guitar controller, I can't do better than about 75% on songs like Suffragette City, but I can easy bang out 95% using my GH3 Les Paul controller (on hard mode on both).

Is there any different part number or some sort of way to tell which revision of the guitar is which, magnets or microswitches?
