So me and my pal are gonna tackle the Endless Setlist this Thursday. Me on guitar, him on drums. We're doing it on medium (shrug). What can I say, the solos in the last tier kill me, and he's still working his way through hard on drums.
So anyway. Anything special we should keep in mind before we dive in? How much time should we devote to it? How many breaks should we allow ourselves? Are there any particular times when it's better to take breaks (like, before a particular insanely difficult song)? Any supplies we should stock up on?
And the details. If we fail a song (not too likely if we're playing on medium, but ya never know)... we don't have to go all the way back to the beginning, do we?
From what I gather, beating the Endless Setlist on medium will turn our band icons silver. Does this stick with your character all across the board, i.e., during solo play, local multiplayer, and online?
And lastly, what is our manager going to push us to do once we finish?

- I would plan for a 5-10 hour session, depending on how often you fail and/or how many breaks you take. I think the time breakdown puts the songs, straight through, at something close to 5(ish) hours - somebody here I'm sure has the right numbers.
- You do not have to start over if you fail.
- I'm pretty sure the icon sticks with that specific character in each mode.

Sweet.
Yeah, if you plug in the numbers... 58 songs, an average of, say, four minutes per song, that's about four hours. Plus the time between songs, breaks, fails... I think we could do it in 5-6 hours. Whew. Gonna get a serious case of Rock Wrist, but it'll be worth it... for some reason. ;)
I'm psyched that the icon will (probably) stick with you throughout all aspects of the game. Granted, it's not as cool as your character glowing with awesome rockosity, but it'd be nice to have something to show off to n00bs.

Get something to cover the Xbox "guide" button on the drum controller. One forum user had their marathon reset about half way in after an untimely hit of that button.
I myself caused a band failure in my Hall of Fame marathon by hitting it in the "crazy" section of Run to the Hills and breaking everyone's combo. :(

Ooh, good call. I'd go into skull-cracking mode if my drummer canceled the set in the middle.

Me and my best friend (who is a female by the way) completed the Endless Set List on hard today. It took us about 5 hours. We would have done it in about 3 hours if it was not for breaks and failing one time. I was on drums and she played lead guitar. We went through the first tier since it was all easy songs. May I suggest writing all the songs down on a pad in order. We did this so we would know what the next song was so we knew when we wanted to take breaks. Each of our breaks consisted of going to the rest room, something to drink, and one time something to eat. So lets say each break was between 10 to 15 minutes. Then we would knock out another 6 to 10 songs before the next break. When we started getting into wrist killers like GG&HT RTTH, Next to you, Enter Sandman, ETC. we would break usually before those so we could let her wrist and my arms and legs rest. I hope this helps out it helped us a great deal. Once you get your silver icon (golf for hard) it follows you in solo, multiplayer and online so everyone knows you completed the Endless Set List.

I can confirm that the icon sticks with you. On medium it's actually white (on the 360) with a black instrument. (as opposed to black with a white instrument)
After the endless set list your manager pushes you to the Hall Of Fame gig then you lose your manager.
My wife (vocals) and I (guitar) beat it in about 5 and a half hours.
One thing I will say.. my right arm hurt for a few days after wards and she was hoarse for a few days too.
Other than that.. it's not really that bad considering that when I play online or we just jam around in the house we probably play 30 or more songs per sitting anyway.
Just have fun with it.
