R.I.P. Taco Bell Dog.

Gidget, the famed Chihuahua who appeared in Taco Bell ads, died Tuesday at the age of 15.

Karen McElhatton, Gidget's owner, tells Usmagazine.com the dog was with her trainer, Sue Chipperton, watching television when she began making "strange noises" and suffered a stroke.

Before the dog's death, "She had a good day and was running around as normal," McElhatton tells Usmagazine.com. "We're happy that she was very well off right until the end."

To tell you the truth, I haven't seen any chihuahua Taco Bell commercials lately anyway. All's I've seen lately is the volcano taco commercials.It's been at least 10 years since I saw one of their chihuahua commercials. That's a long time in dog years, I'm surprised to learn that the dog was still alive all that time until yesterday.

Meh... don't like those volcano tacos too much. Del Taco has better tacos. When I go to Taco Bell anymore it's for the cheap burritos. Their quesadillas used to rule all fast food, especially when they were only $1.69 a piece, but alas, that was back in the chihuahua commercial days.

Man, loosing a pet is like loosing a friend, worse, a family member.

Fifteen years is a tremendous lifespan for a dog. Atleast they died happy. It's heartbreaking to see dogs slumping around for weeks and weeks as they reach thier final moments. If one my dogs went that's how I'd want it to be.
