i want to try playing an instrument and sing at the same time. so now im in the market for a headset. is it possible to use the bluetooth headset as an option? will it even work in the game?

also... any know know of a usb hands free mic? i don't really want to cover my ears (though if you heard me sing you might think i should) when i sing.

In response to your first question, the answer is no.. I have the bluetooth headset that came with Warhawk and Rock Band doesn't even recognize there being a microphone connected.. pretty sure it has to be USB

As DreamCycle said - for some reason, Harmonix decided not to support bluetooth headsets. Maybe they will in the future, but there's no guarantee. USB is the way to go.

I think you'd want to get a pretty decent headset, probably one specifically designed for singing, because most headsets are designed for talking and don't have the dynamic range necessary if you're going to be belting out "ROOOOXanne" ;)

Can't even use the PSEye. Sucks, because I had planned on BWT with Drums and Vocals and it'll be hard to hold the mic and play the drums at the same time.

^^^^ What he said. Plus, I don't see how the eye is any more convenient to hold :)

I use the Logitech USB headset. I originally got it for Karaoke Revolution on my PS2 and, a couple of years later, it works just fine on my PS3 with Rock Band.

For the cowbell/tamborine parts I say "cha" or make some other percussive sound with my mouth. No tapping necessary.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but a standard, run of the mill mic stand will work with the Rock Band mic, right?

Yes, even one of the loading tips says to do that to sing and play an instrument.

You can press a button on the controller to hit the cowbell/tambourine hit

While you're playing guitar? I'd like to see video of that.

(Just tweakin' ya, Frederf.)
