View Full Version : Why did the Rock Blogs stop?

Ever since the release of Rock Band, there haven't been any blogs from HMXSean like there were before launch since the release... hell, there wasn't even a post on the day of release with some sort of witty post regarding the awesomosity of Rock Band finally being released.
I understand HMXSean's job is community relations (or something to that effect). Was he just trying to get us sold on RB, and then pull an Enron on us? I don't think this is very likely all things considered.
However, how come there hasn't even been anything, to my knowledge, that has been stated or released from HMX regarding all this faulty and shoddy hardware?
It is just kind of silly, that one thing that sticks out in my mind was the "community appreciation banner" that a lot of us from this community (myself included) were a part of and signed which was sent to Harmonix about a month or two ago... and Harmonix doesn't seem to be doing anything about anything (although it is most likely EA or MTV we should be blaming, but if that is the case, Harmonix has some terrible business partners that are really making them look bad).

I'm just wondering if anyone else feels at a loss because there doesn't seem to be that much (if any) community relations post launch.

From HMXSean a couple weeks ago:
"I'll be back! Things have been pretty crazy and once I can get enough sleep to form cohesive sentences I'll be back in effect. Dialogue will return. I'm working on it."
The board will eventually return to some normalcy though probably not exactly as it once was since there will always be complaint threads and similar things now that the game is released (as well as "register just to post a question and never post again" people). Just give it some more time since they surely have their plates full right now with things that require their attention more promptly than Rock Blogs. And if they tried to do rock blogs right now, the thread would turn into a "sooo, how about those patches?" "any news on 'this'?" kind of thing just because a HMX rep is present. Thats why (i think at least) you don't see HMX posting casually right now because whenever they do people who want answers jump on the thread when they see a HMX rep posted.
:)
EDIT: http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=15346
Prime example. It was obviously meant as a joke or whatever, but it only took until post #6 of this [new] thread for "the patch" to be brought up, when that wasn't the sole intent of OP. Its just not possible for them to be "buddy buddy" with the community right now.

thanks for the reply Smidget, I can't say I thought of that (neither did I catch that post from HMXSean you brought up).
I guess I am just a bit frustrated from my replacement guitar craping out in less than an hour yesterday... I don't know. It was nice before launch to get some news once or twice a week from the guys and gals at HMX and to be "in the know" with that... and now it seems that opportunity to get an inside view from HMX just stopped.

What can they say? We all spent $170+ on a broken game. They know they effed up.
They know WE know they effed up. They know they will be hounded about their shortcomings if they bother to post here.
