I think it's awesome that people are contacting their favorite bands and getting involved like that but how about the local stuff? Stuff people may not have heard before so they can check it out :)

A.P.E. (A Primitive Evolution) (http://www.myspace.com/aprimitiveevolution) - Toronto, ON - Industrial, Grunge, Goth

We're All Winners (http://www.myspace.com/wereallwinners) - Cleveland, OH - Powerpop

Prime Addiction (http://www.myspace.com/officialprimeaddiction) - Lakewood, OH - Metal, Progressive

Feargrinder (http://www.myspace.com/feargrinder) - Cleveland, OH - Metal

Mabus Christ (http://www.myspace.com/mabuschrist) - Cleveland, OH - Industrial

All of these guys seem to be on board, working on more plus some material of my own. Post yours!

I'd name the band themselves but they aren't completely signed on for it yet, and are changing their name anyway. I jut showed the bassist (my uncle) the RBN and he was like "Oh, cool."

There's a guy I work with who runs a record label. I've pointed him in the direction, but I'll talk to him about it properly - I expect he'll be up for it. I'm also currently thinking my way through the local goth/industrial scene to see who else I might interest in RBN...

I've asked a band near me named Pillar of Autumn. Kinda Metal/Alternative sounding when I played a gig with them with my band.

I've sent the info to two guys I work with who have bands. One is a fairly popular local band in Springfield, MO, the other has a top downloaded Christian Rock song. Hopefully they can find some success with this.

I notified I Fight Dragons, a local, Chicago, up-and-coming, nerd rock band. They said they signed up for the email regarding beta testing and were psyched. :D

Kids Collapse (http://www.myspace.com/kidscollapse) - Hardcore/Pop-Rock. Saco, Maine.

My friend is actually their lead singer and they are getting their stuff mastered by the guitarist from A Day to Remember. They're just about signed too.

I contacted...my band! Ok ok, shameless plug over. In all seriousness, I'm attempting to contact the owners of the music of Nathan Davis. A singer/songwriter who was a phenomenal musician and great friend, he tragically passed away a few years ago.

Here's some of his music recorded live a few years back. The songs on his Myspace page come from a live CD that was produced by the same guy who produced Wounded Soul's EP, The Ascension:

If you like folksy acoustic guitar/singing type stuff, you'll love this. It's just Nathan on guitar and singing, with a pianist (and some strings in a few songs). It would make some really fun voxtar songs! :)

Man I wish Too Long in the Wasteland was up there. That song has some damn tricky guitar licks in it. Carolina Sky is a good one to listen to first, then Nickels and Dimes.

I contacted Paul McCartney about this, but he said they had already made other arrangements and wouldn't be using the RBN.

There are two friends of mine in local bands that I will be telling about the RBN.

I'm a drummer, and my guitarist told me he used to date his mom's friend's daughter who is the singer or something in an all-girl ska band in his town. Apparently "Camp Calamity" is pretty decent, so he said he would tell them.

I've contacted one local record label (Motive Sounds) and the owner of them is very interested, and he's been passing the word on to other record label owners in the surrounding area. As soon as I can get a list of all the positive responses I'll put them up somewhere!

The publicist responded rather quickly and she certainly seemed interested in the Network:

Brandon,

What a wonderful idea. I will submit the band today. Thank you for sharing the link with me. Joan Red plays Minglewood hall on Aug. 14 (their cd release party) please stop by the merch table and introduce yourself! And thank you for spreading the red!

Best,
Stephanie Christie

I really hope they go through with it, and the songs make it to the PS3 if they do.
