BIG ROCK ENDINGS YEAH!!!! or something like that.
Ok the drummer bangs like a 4 year old on crack, the bassist and guitar start windmilling and twiddling their...... lower buttons but the thing that bothers me is what is the vocalist supposed to be doing during that Rock ending?
I see an overdrive Phrase comes up and I usually activate it.... though im not sure why with no word's left to sing...... It doesn't seem to garner us any more points and we have no closing note.
Does "freestyle" singing increase the big rock ending bonus? Does it matter if I activate that last overdrive? Or should I just sit back and let the others close the show? (Doesn't seem very singer like if ya ask me though :P )

As long as the singer sings "something" at the end, your contribution to the BRE is complete. It doesn't matter if you say one thing or 10298.
The drummer doesn't matter how many lanes you light up with your BRE, because you just get a fraction of the max value per hit relative to how many hits a measure you do (so you can do 10 hits for 10 points each, or 100 hits for 1 point each, etc).
The guitarist needs to try to keep all the lanes light up as much as possible though, as they're actually triggering a recorded track.

The problem I have is that sometimes when I sing and play guitar/bass, I get different messages based on what I sing during the Big Rock Ending. Sometimes it'll say idle if I forget to say something (0 points), sometimes Messy (~540), sometimes I've hit Awesome on a Big Rock Ending (~2000 points). What determines the quality of your big rock ending? I know it's not how long you hold the note, because I've changed that up quite frequently.

I've never noticed such a thing. Suggestions to pay attention to would be the last phrase before the big rock ending, and also to see if it lines up with your overall performance of the entire song.
Either way, I can't imagine it has anything to do with what you actually say, since there's no indication you have to say something specific.

Singing doesn't actually generate points during the BRE, it just "activates" it.

Then I suppose I am seeing the residue from the last phrase / tambourine section. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, that sounds like a bug if that's the case. Thanks!

So I guess all my end of song wailing is for naught. :(
Oh well I'll do it anyway hehe.
Thanks for the clarification

End of song wailing makes you a better person. Never give up on it.

Yeah, our singer usually takes the opportunity to thank our digital audience for their continued support and remind them to tip their waitresses...

I was told that during the guitar part of the BRE that you earn points at a specific maximum rate for each second each BRE "note" is kept lit. Kind of like a long sustain note is scored. However I played a BRE recently where that seemed not to be the case as the points went up faster and at the same time as my finger pressed the solo button, despite the fact that both speeds of pressing kept the "note" illuminated 100% of the time.
