So I got an email about 20 min ago from a big English rock band from the 80's who said "That sounds good to me, how does it work?"

now I don't know what to do next! Help me.

1. Title sounds like it came off the cover a self-help book.
2. Did you follow this (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153483)?
3. I'm going to be sorely dissapointed if this leads to "Never Gonna Give You Up"

Do we get to know what "big English rock band from the 80s" it is? And point him towards the Creators page as well as Rhythm Authors' website perhaps.

What big English rock band from the 80's are we talking about here?

Do we get to know what "big British metal band from the 80s" it is? And point him towards the Creators page as well as Rhythm Authors' website perhaps.

Yea I mentioned that Rhythm Authors will be doing the charts but I still need verification from RA if they will do it.

I think I have the power to get this band in the game, and when it is done, then we shall have glory. :D

If we're talking GGs here, they were 70s, weren't they?

the band was formed in 1976 and had its hey day with NWOBH in the 80's

If an artist is asking how it works, it's best to point them to existing press releases and websites (like creators.rockband.com). An artist can also e-mail Harmonix for further information if necessary. At the moment, some specific details are still to be revealed through Beta and beyond. Here are some helpful quotes from the thread whypick1 linked earlier:

Those specifics will be touched on in the Creators Club or further down the road in Beta and can be addressed by an HMX person if need be.

[...]

The best thing you can do is point them to any of the links below, as that will provide all of the information that bands should need to get involved with RBN.

Man, I've fallen behind. Haven't really been following anything for the past few weeks, and I have no idea what Rock band network is...

... and I haven't slept for nearly 40 hours, so I probably couldn't read a childrens book and make sense of it right now, much less a press release.

But hey, if it gets Saxon in the game, it's got to be good.

I hope not. I was being honest, I do need help. I got it though, in all honesty I didnt want to say the band so no one would get their hopes up in case things didnt plan out. Plus I try and get bands only for you guys ;_;

You know I would try ZZ Top but theyre just too big of a band that I'm sure HMX is or has already spoken with a representative of theirs. I just go for the overlooked bands that aren't THAT well known.

Alvarado,

Have you taken a look at Music Game Authors (http://www.musicgameauthors.com/)?

The list of bands is growing as is the charting group.

Not really. Alvarado has done a ton to help these boards, predicting Iron Maiden because of Flight 666 and pretty much supposedly getting Rust in Peace in Rock Band

fix'd, lol.

But I digress. If you're looking into 70's and 80's bands, you are now my idol. Wouldst thou check up on Night Rangers and see if they'll at least get "When You CLose Your Eyes" in RBN?

Princess of the Night definitely! Also maybe Power and the Glory. But from the looks of it they already chose the songs.

Princess of the Night is my most wanted song of theirs, I would love to play it. Really nice work, Alvarado, always great to see more NWOBHM come to Rock Band. :)

It looks like Saxon. It was either that or Diamond Head. I figured it out after checking your little bold writing clue. The Power and The Glory was a Saxon album released in 1983. However, a British heavy metal band named Raven released a song named The Power and The Glory in 1985. Curveball much?
Probably Saxon though. Good luck with that.
EDIT: Sorry, only read the front page
