You only have to pay tax on internet purchases if you reside in the same state where the company you're buying from has any sort of physical presence. Since your profile says you're in Russia, and last time I checked we haven't annexed you (:P), you're safe.

Delaware doesn't have state sales tax.

Michigan isn't charged state sales tax... also, I am pretty sure Oregon has no state sales tax, either.

California does, but I don't see anything about tax free zones on the PSN.

Ugh, California sales tax is 'effing insane now. I went there 2 weeks ago. 9.75% in LA! I bought this kinda expensive doll, but to pay like $50-something in tax on top...

It's 10.25% in Pico Rivera, a neighboring city of L.A.

Over in Riverside County (I live in Riverside, the main city) it's only 8.75%, which is good, but still bad.

If you buy something for $1,000 over in Pico Rivera, you have to pay $102.50 in taxes. It's horrible.

At least Washington has no state income tax, though. The sales tax just makes up for it.

California has both... oy.

How the hell are you people broke then?

Simple; their state overpays for EVERYTHING. Kinda like a sorority sister having just been given her dad's AmEx card for the weekend :)

I love Michigan's 6% sales tax. I hate Michigan's income tax.

Without income tax though, we would have crazy liquor and cigarette prices (even though they're pretty high already, they could get much worse) and a much too high tax on everything else.

*sigh*

Damn the Taxman.
