Is there a hub or something I can got so I can play more then 2 players on my 40 gig PS3? Any help would be appreciated!

There is an official Rock Band hub that you can get at Best Buy for around $25, but any USB hub should do.
Remember, though, you'll need to have an AC outlet to plug it into.

I've used a third party powered hub and it works flawlessly.

Any USB hub will work. A powered one is preferable, but I've seen Rock Band work with a bus powered USB hub running two wireless guitars, drums, and mic.

Ahh, that's good information. I was wondering if it required a powered hub, since the 360's is powered.
For the OP - get a generic USB hub. They're all the same, and the Rock Band branded one will be more expensive just because of the name printed on it.

That's cool. I've always had trouble using bus-powered hubs on my PC, so I just figured that since RB needs to power the mic (not that big a deal) and drums (a somewhat bigger deal) through the hub, you'd lose too much without an external power source.

Actually, out of interest... anyone know if the Sixaxis controllers will recharge when plugged into a non-powered hub?
I was kind of assuming that they wouldn't which is why I would have been tempted to recommend a powered hub for anyone looking to buy.

I bought a powered hub (I also have 40gb PS3) but it works non-powered as well if you just leave it unplugged.

I actually am not that surprised about the drums - they're really just a bunch of switches and one glowing LED. There's almost no power consumption per se besides the LED. I'm not that familiar with the electronics in a microphone, but I'm not surprised they don't take that much either.
Do we have confirmation that the wireless dongle works ok on an unpowered hub? That's the only thing I can think of that would use a significant amount of power. How about if you have two guitars on the same hub? (heh, for those that have a second guitar)

I have my GHIII dongle, RB dongle, and mic all plugged in to my hub, which is unpowered. Works wonderfully.

While I do still currently have a second (and third) guitar (where's that crying smiley you were looking for yesterday?), I have a 60 GB PS3, so I don't have need of a hub, and I use a charging base to keep my SIXAXISes (SIXAXII?) up to power.
On an only vaguely-related subject, now that I have RB, I've finally pushed my PS3 into having to look beyond slot four for controllers: I hit the PS button the other day and after the usual flashing, the SIXAXIS took slot 5, represented by lighting up the #1 and #4 LEDs at the same time.

At this point, you should probably name-drop the brand for interested parties.

It's a Dynex 4-port hub.

I do not think it would. I believe that the reason the hub is powered is so that people can use the play and charge kits with the hub and not complain when they don't work :D

Yup. I'd been there before, can't remember why, but it is really cool seeing up to 7 controllers being able to be used by one game. I had four controllers plus the drums and three guitars (two of them GH3) hooked up. Pretty sweet. If only I could get my friends to play Pixeljunk Racers - it supports up to 7 simultaneous (would have to ask a friend to bring PS2 controllers and use the pelican adapters I have for GH2, though).

Very good point!
