Hi. Basically i'm planning to get a bigger HD for my PS3 as i'm running out of space. I own both RB1 + 2 so as well as DLC I also have the old RB1 songs on RB2. I'm only using a 16GB flash disk so i'm deleting most game files and things so that it'll fit but I was wondering if since i've added the RB1 songs to RB2 if I still need to keep my RB1 game data when I backup?
I should probably check if i'm right in making the assumption that my DLC is stored in my Game Data yeah? Cheers.

From the PS3 menu, the Saved Data Utility has your bands & characters, delete this and you lose them (RB1 & 2).
In Game Data Utility the RB1 file has all your dlc, delete this and you'll be spending some time downloading again, but you can get it all back from the PSN store View Downloads.

I upgraded my HDD a few days ago. I did the Backup Utility and then the restore to the new HDD. It shows everything transferred over to the new HDD but I cannot play any of the DLC. Also, none of the RB1 songs show up either. Anyone know of a solution? Or do I just need to re-download the songs?

Before you go through all the pain of redownloading, try deactivating then activating your console. It's easy, nondestructive and might work in this case.
If you could let us know if it does or not that would be cool, tks.

Thanks keneke, I didn't think of that. I'll try it when I get off work and post my results.
