Funny as all hell... spot on accurate, and with his trademarked satiricial style.
Hope he reviews Rock Band at some point... although I shudder to think of the verbal lashing if his hardware breaks. ;)

That's what happens when you make a game that's difficult merely for the sake of being difficult. It's not fun. It's just...difficult.
For what it was, it might as well just have been DLC packs for GH2. The game was no different at all, except for the co-op career and the fact that it allows you to be MUCH sloppier with timing and HO/POs.
The only good thing I have to say about GH3 is that it gave me my wireless LP for my 360. :)

Hahah! That was great. Totally matches what I think about GH3. I'm going to have to check out his other reviews. :)

I just (like 2 minutes ago) beat GH3 on expert. My month-long brick wall was Slayer's Blood Rain (or is it Raining Blood? One is the album title and the other is the song title) which is the same song he got stuck on on hard. Lou fell with relative ease 3 tries later and I swear I got at least 70% of the Dragonforce (credits) as well though I will never know till I play it on practice.
As lots of people like to bash GH3, I can only agree to an extent. Only the worst solos are well- inhuman. I have a blast playing 3's & 7's on it as well some of the other parts that people claim are "difficult for difficulty's sake." I mean the parts that are clearly made by electronic means and the game expects you to manually tap them out.
Also I love Yahtzee (aka Charismatic Stallion) of Zero Punctuation.

Wonderful video! But a bit quick on the speech, I missed a few things and had to "rewind" (I miss the VHS days.... not) I do like how challenging Medium is in GHIII, but I could never see myself enjoying anything higher. Challenging is fun, but fricken impossible makes you wants to blow someone's brains out. But Eric Johnson's song (played at the end of the vid) is just awesome, and not from a GH or even gaming PoV. I just love that song in general. I say put it in Rock Band, I don't care if I'm going to do nothing but cowbell my way through the entire song!

Lol, no problem, I only found him a month or so back myself when I saw his Halo 3 review posted somewhere. Now I wait for a new video every wednesday with the same impatience that I wait for the next episode of my favourite tv show!
I wonder if he'll be reviewing Kane and Lynch?

That review could not have been more dead on! GH III is ok but not nearly as good as the others. I too hit that wall he talks about, not on hard though, but when I got to expert, it was certainly there. It really just wasn't a well thought out or put together game compared to its predecessors. I'm so happy there is an alternative that is Rock Band.

This guy rocks, for all the funny **** he does, he actually gives the most accurate review of any reviewer I've seen.
His Halo 3 review was SPOT ON. An average game...I wish more reviewers were as ballsy.

"you are a freak with 3 arms and a pet spider that you trained to hit the buttons"
BTW, the song is Raining Blood. The Album was Reign in Blood. This album was released in 1986. Postmortem wouldv'e been a better song lol.

I call my pet spider Brittney. Actually the run in question (about 45? seconds into the Slayer songs) I can 100% that particular string at about 70% speed in practice, as it's a rather simple pattern, just too fast to play quickly.
Something that GH and RB have done somewhat wrong that makes the game more difficult than reality is that missing a note during a long HO/PO string stops your string vibrating and requires you to re-strum to hit any subsequent notes. This is of course not how reality works. If you HO/PO the wrong note in real life the string continues to vibrate (unless you do something drastic to stop it) and you can continue hitting the rest of the notes. This makes long HO/PO sequences harder in the game than they should be since any mistake at all kills everything.

Use the solo buttons. Problem solved.

Except in the sections of the song that don't have a blue background (majority) and half the buttons still function in a manner that defies logic... so, not solved?

I fe;t the same way about GH3. I actually sat in the parking lot waiting to get it as soon as the doors opened but once I got home the game felt...weird.
I was motoring alot fine on hard until Knights of Cyndonia came along with its HO/PO action. Then I got stuck and grudingly went back to medium.
Something about GH3 didn't click and I'm glad to see Yahtzee thought so too. It's still a great game, but I'd take GH2 over GH3 any day. In fact, I already have: GH2 spins in my PS2 on a daily basis, where as I only play GH3 with friends around because they're all like "You got GH3! Ooo-emmm-geeee!"
