View Full Version : Guitar just broke (gasp!): exotic strum mechanism?

After reading the forum, gaming sites, and hearing the lamentation of 3 buddies who all suffered guitar and/or drum failure, I finally joined the club! Down-strum is gone after about 5-6 hours of gentle play.

I was ready to go for a DIMyself fix. I opened the guitar and my heart sank (that's twice in 10 minutes now). No ****ty (but fixeable) metal plates here, friends: rather a ****ty plastic part.

Whatever is broken, it seems to be inside the plastic casing, out of reach. Has anyone seen those? And more importantly, is there a method for fixing them?

I wanted to fix it myself because we had plans for a RB party next Tuesday - I was even supposed to cook some fancy pants French cuisine. Looks like we'll have to cancel and enjoy (or not) the express replacement procedure...

dont cancel your party just yet. call around to the video stores around you. there's a little mom and pop type store that rents out rock band. just rent it the game in time for your party. or if you have Xbox 360 try to rent guitar hero with the guitar in a pinch
(may need to make an arrangement with them so someone else doesnt rent it). if all else fails buy a guitar hero guitar..make sure not to damage it then try returning it saying you got it for an xmas gift for your brother but your parents got it already =)
