I'm going down to Minnesota for the Monday night football game. And we were going to go to the Mall of America. I know theres a Game Stop in the mall. But are there any other stores in walking or short drive distance?. And is it still hard to get there? Thanks

There are actually 2 GameStops in the Mall of America (I believe one used to be an EB).
There's not much of a point walking anywhere from the MoA. There's an Ikea across the street, but no game retailers. You can talk the light rail to/from the airport, but basically the only shopping near the MoA is... the MoA.
Traffic is always obnoxious around the Mall, just park in one of the structures, the surface lots are always full. Always.
Also, be sure to visit the Lego store :D

I was there for the Phialdelphia game. I bought Guitar Hero 3 that weekend at the Mall of America, in fact. There are two Gamestops in the MOA. The first didn't have GH3 (all they had were being held for pre-orders), so I went to the second and they had plenty. Plan B was to go to one of the many Best Buys we passed on the way in. I saw plenty of Circuit City stores as well. Just guessing, I'd say there's at least half a dozen BB's and CC's within a five to ten mile radius of the MOA. Use a PC to map them out before you go, or use your vehicle navigation system (if you have one). Or, do it the old fashioned way and ask around when you get there. Also, we got a room at the Days Inn MOA. It's right across the street from the mall and parking is free when you book a room. We rode the rail in from there. I didn't think the traffic was that bad in and out of the hotel.

Yeah, just a few miles away on 494 is a Best Buy right next to their corporate headquarters. If you can take a 5-10 minute drive, you might be able to find one there. I assume you are thinking of exporting a copy to yourself? ;)

I don't know how I'm gona get it over the border but I will find a way. I might buy a suit case and stuff clothes around it so it dosen't break in the airplane.

PM me, or email me at Josh@teambme.com if you need help around the area, as I type this-- I'm maybe a mile and a half away from MoA... if you can't find a copy around here, let me know somehow and I'll see what I can do

One of those GameStops was a FuncoLand once. It was actually the first FuncoLand... Back in the Funco days, we used to joke about taking trips there, as if it were our Mecca.

Everything he said:D Lived in MN for 11 1/2 years, parents are still there in a town called Rochester. I worked at the game stop that is down stairs on the first floor when it opened in 1992. I also helped put together what use to be a huge music store on the 3rd floor right next to the food court that has been turned into an outlet shop. I love MOA and if anyone is going to have some RB's it would be them.

I live in Mn as well... There are alot of BB's, Targets, Wal-Marts, CC's, Gamestops around and such where I'm sure you can get a copy.
I live on the west end of the cities by Lake Minnetonka, but I go through the cities all the time, and know the area well (lived here for 30+ years). I'm sure I could help ya find something.

Nothing within walking distance. And since you're near the airport, traffic will be kind of a mess in that area (at least during rush hours). But there are plenty of Best Buys, Circuit Citys, and GameStops within manageable driving distance.
Unless you're going to the Mall of America for the experience of going to the Mall of America (and not specifically to get Rock Band), I would suggest calling around and finding a different place to get it. Parking is a hassle, and it will be way crowded this time of year.
I've been there maybe three times in my life (I live in Minnesota), and I haven't been there in over ten years. I hate the place, almost as much as I hate downtown Minneapolis.

Thanks for all the advice. I hope MoA has it so I don't have to drive around everywhere.

I was there yesterday and they have most of the huge new Star Wars sets built. Including the 3' long Star Destroyer, 2'6" diameter Death Star, and the 3' diameter  Millennium Falcon.
Awesome.

The Mall of America is probably going to be pretty chaotic right now, considering we're so close to the holidays. I don't usually like to shop at the MoA because of that. There's another large mall in Edina, MN (Southdale) that I would prefer to go to if I were in the area, unless of course the store I need to go to is only at MoA.
Anyway, good luck on getting the game. If they don't have it at Gamestop, you might be able to try the store called Toy Corner. I don't remember if they have video games, but they might.
Here's the phone number of the Best Buy location that is very close to the MoA:
