Here is an offical email i got from harmonix.
We haven’t announced a date for the European RB release yet, but we are working on it. The most I can say is that Rock Band will be coming sometime in 2008. Stay tuned at rockband.com for more information as it becomes available.
Rock,
John Veneron

Just order it from the US.
I got mine from gamestop, cost $204 inc delivery - just about £100, then customs/VAT was £35 on top of that.
Was sent on Thursday, got here on Monday!
Works fine, it's multi-region, is NTSC rather than PAL but that should be fine on all modern or HD TVs.
The only problem you're going to have is finding stock in the US... Gamestop are currently saying Feb.

The rumor mill points to March 6th.
I got it from two separate places, so it may be true...

I've been wanting to get my hands this game for so long.
Why such a long delay for us Europeans, and why no definitive release date? Are you guys at Harmonix waiting to see if it bombs in the US first? Are we less valued (potential) customers?
I know we can import it and pay extra for the privilege of playing it in crappy NTSC but why should we have to?
Anyone at Harmonix feel like stepping up and answering this one?

They are just barely able to now release to Canada. What else do you need to know?

I want to know why the delay? Why are they only just barely able to release to Canada now? Why not have simultaneous releases?

amazon suggests march 7 (which seems to tie in with the rumours of march 6, except this seems more likely to be correct as is a friday)

although this is ps3 version, game only. the SE bundle still has no date set according to amazon, but i cant believe they won't release on the same day.

Sorry I didn't realize you were brand new here. They don't have the production capability. They were making the bundles for months before the US release date and still sold out. Combine that with the high failure rate of the peripherals and you get a situation where they pumping the peripherals out as fast as they can just to keep up with the local Christmas demand (which is the point of releasing when they did) and next to no capacity to expand to new markets.
