Does anyone thinks that this track which was way ahead of it's time which some have said is one of the most influential tracks of all time in pop music is the Beatles best song?

Who can say? It's one of my favorites, but I don't know if I would call it their very best one. They had so many great songs, it's damn near impoissible to choose the single best one. It's like trying to decide which of the hairs on your head is the best.

It was brilliant and revolutionary to say the least.

agreed, but the beatles had so much good music. Even in some earlier songs you can hear brilliant chord harmonies... and by now I am heavily drawn into their blues phase.. songs like yer blues and don't let me down...

HMX, what have you done to me? I loved the beatles before ...but now I am a beatlemaniac ^^

I should have said "Tomorrow Never Knows" the Beatles most groundbreaking song? It just sounds way ahead of it's time like an early example Modern electronica.

I dunno about their best per se, but it is probably in my top 10, definitely top 20. It is one of their more revolutionary, and one of the best closing tracks of all time.

Best need not mean groundbreaking, it can also simply mean the most perfect pop song they wrote. Or the best lyrical track.

I agree that Tomorrow Never Knows was a really groundbreaking and astonishing feat for its time that has somehow managed not to really age.

But I think Yesterday or Hey Jude would qualify as untouchable pop. And Across the Universe or For No One stands tall as the best lyrical example, I think.

I wouldn't say most groundbreaking, but it was definitely their first groundbreaking song, in psychedelic terms. The Beatles were groundbreaking since day one, now that I think about it.

One of my favorites from them, I just wish the original version was in the game instead of the Love version.

It was Techno before Techno...

It also featured sampling and looping.

My old band used to cover this for the end of our shows. We usually jammed on it way too long and I was happy just to play that one note on the bass the whole time because it was such a cool groove.

People don't give Ringo enough credit for the drum line, it sounds like nothing before it and set a precedent for everything after it. I think I would put it in my top 10 along with Norwegian Wood, Revolution, A Day in the Life, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Hey Jude, Girl, Get Back, and All You Need Is Love for their top 10 greatest.

It's definitely one of my favourites. A lot of (non-Beatles) psychedelic stuff from the Sixties sounds really dated now, but Tomorrow Never Knows still sounds really modern because of the drums. I just want to dance whenever I hear it! :D
