okay, i bought rockband for PS3 and i was excited to play it. When i got home, it said i needed a microphone to actually start playing. I just want to play guitar and i dont want to buy a mic...

anybody know what i could do?

Close, but no donut RustyBuket. You used the Sixaxis to get through the menus -- that means "I want to use the Microphone". Exit to the menus, get your guitar hooked up (red light on PS3 button and the dongle should both be on) and then use the guitar to navigate the menus.

keep in mind though, im using my guitar hero 3 guitar instead of the rockband one. that might altar things a little bit maybe?

The Les Paul guitar that come with GH3 is not compatible with Rock Band on the PS3. Thank Activision for this, since Harmonix has a patch ready to go but Sony won't let them send it out due to an Activision complaint.
