I don't understand why people are all upset about the title of this thread, but then again I don't understand why religion is so popular.
I like Switchfoot (for their music, not their religion) but I don't know the others.

How about some Skillet or Spoken, I would much rather have them in rockband. Maybe some Still Remains to, although most of there songs wouldn't work to well (screaming), but then again Harmonix did say they want to include all genres of music. I'm still waiting for my Christian Hardcore and Metal.

my apologies. I tried changing the title but i cant. I saw other people posting up the type of music that the songs were connected to (i.e latin music, prog rock). I just thought it would be okay to title it christian since that is a genre of music. The intent was not to force christian beliefs at all.

Here's a thought, some of the proceeds from the ms points to download these songs could be donated to the charity or church of the original artist's(') choice....wait a minute, microsoft give away money what was I thinking! lol and besides isn't paying for a product of a strong religious platform to a profitting company/organization sacreligious? so what are we up to now, 1 fresh christian rock request thread a week?
for all you who missed all the other threads:
the same bands have been mentioned in every single thread, multiple times within those threads, etc etc. (Red hasn't been posted in this one yet? *shocked* ) But I assure you with 100% confidence (thats right, i said it) that Harmonix has seen all the other threads and have read the requests for these bands.
I'm not being a hater or anything as I have been listening to this music my entire life and also think some of it would be great for the game but every time i see the new "christian rock thread for the week" and open it up, the first post is just a repeat of bands that have already been said 10 times over. Just wanted to point that out.

I don't think adding Christian themed songs is a good idea, mainly because not everyones a Christian and some people might find it offensive that they put in songs relating to a religion. They could easily make it DLC though.

It's funny how people get all offended by the idea of Christian bands because of religion, yet they don't mind KISS or Tenacious D.
If you want to keep religion out of video games, how about we start with satanism? Satanism is more religion based than Christianity. In fact, it says it the Bible to stay right away from religion.
Personally, I don't think Switchfoot would work. Theres just too much going on. Now Skillet, or Audio Adrenaline would probably work good.

Honestly, most of the songs in the title post aren't very suitable for Rock Band (maybe a worship team, but not a video game).
Rock Band needs some Disciple or Skillet or Spoken or Mute Math or Underoath or Thousand Foot Krutch or Project 86 or RED...
And on a not-so-similar note, Beatles and Zep would be much appreciated.
Wow this is funny, if you post a thread with the word "Christian" in it, you get flamed by more idiots than you can count, but if you post a thread about a certain band thats Christian you get no flames at all (i've seen it BTW). I think it would be good to have these bands on RB.
If you don't want "Christian Rock" don't buy it. Instead of flaming the poster with pointless comments, give a logical reason why it shouldn't be on RB.
In fact, it says it the Bible to stay right away from religion.
You don't even know why it says that do you? I'll tell you, it's because Christanity is not a religion. Christianity is a faith. Nice try though.

You know, there actually is a Christian Rock song on Rock Band. Flyleaf's - I'm so sick.
But, I totally know what you mean. I'm not really a religious person, but there are some awesome Christian Rock bands out there. Skillet is one of my favorite bands ever and their CR. Thousand Foot Krutch, awesome band. Pillar, Scars of Life, Kutless, Kids in the Way, Toby Mac, Disciple, these are all great CR bands. If you've not listened to any of these bands, you're missing out on some great rock bands.
This is an untapped genre that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

How could I have forgotten Project 86 when I wrote my thread. But, after I wrote it, I went back and read all the comments and there were a lot of great bands mentioned that I failed to do so. Anyway, I think having some of these great songs available for download is a great idea.

Wow you people are pathetic... I agree that some Christian music would be great in RB, people who say Christian Rock sucks are just narrow minded and instantly think worship or the "God this, God that" type of songs, the clearly dont listen to: Creed, Flyleaf, P.O.D. East West, Skillet, Demon Slayer, or any of the other good Christian bands out there.
Stop saying "OMFG KEEP TEH GOD OUT OV TIS!!!" and realise that rock is rock, religion doesn't matter at all, all that matters is this: Does it rock? And some Christain rock does, while some other Christain rock does not.

"christian" is an actual genre of music. it's a way to classify what you may be listening to if you choose that song. i just dont understand what the confusion is. just like if you listen to "rap" genre music, more than likely there with be a lot bass and fast lyrics. metal: lots of drums, guitar, and aggressive lyrics. etc.

You seem really on top of anything requested as "Christian Rock". "Christian Rock" IS a sub-genre of Rock(list of music genres here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rock_genres)) and as such would most likely be packed for sale as a "Christian Rock Pack 1" just a there was a "Punk Pack", therefore, why NOT ask for it this way?
If you are against requesting genres of music, why are you not slamming all the others that are asking for them and not just Christians? Why not be poised and post "ASK for METAL not Death Metal...just ask for good metal that’s all that’s needed!" Or do the same when someone asks for Hair Metal or Classic Rock.
Both sides of religion have agendas, those against it and those for it...and BOTH equally piss me off when they use inane arguments and are so blinded by their own beliefs that they just shut down all sense of reason or empathy(yes empathy) for those that have opposite views. I also find that those on either 'edge' of this argument...share WAY more in common than they will ever know or acknowledge.
Live and let live...does seeing "Christian" so upset you that you just can't ignore it? I wouldn't post in thread asking for Pagan Rock...for one) i know nothing about it, best leave that to those that know the music and for two) i wouldn't download it if they offered it so it affects me not.

Yup...my argument with the folks that scream "NO!!!" the moment Christian is mentioned is, it’s just as valid a TYPE of music as any other. If I mean hair metal but i just say METAL...then here comes the thrash, death, classic...and so on. By calling it by its name I am offending no one and I'm actually being exact in my meaning.
It’s a style/type of music, no better or worse than someone else’s choices but you HAVE to call it by what it is.
Its like this, if you don't like the music in my collection...i more than likely will not like yours but that doesn't make either of us a bad person...just different.

The bottom line is not everone wants to hear negative crappy hateful lyrics about drugs, sex, cursing etc, some of us enjoy the same types of music with GOOD lyrics, uplifting, positive, encouraging stuff, it just so happens that Christian bands make songs that have the same TYPES of music that all you haters like, but with good lyrics.
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY IT DON'T DOWNLOAD IT, BACK OFF.

Why are people so sensitive about religion these days? It seems like whenever someone mentions faith in God, everyone who doesn't believe feels the need to tell them how stupid this belief is. I happen to be a Christian, myself. I have friends of various other religions, and those with no religion. We get along just fine.
Religion is part of life, and can't be ignored. Just becomes someone mentions a religion, or something related to religion, doesn't mean that they are trying to force their personal beliefs on anyone. Those who take offense to the mention of Christianity or any other religion, must have deeper issues.
That being said, I have never really been a fan of Christian Rock. However, it is a valid musical genre. I have no problem with it's optional inclusion in Rock Band (as DLC).
People need to stop being so sensitive!
Pretty much every Christian Rock band I have seen are labeled as Alt. Rock or Alt. Metal. So the way i see it the people that don't want it in RB are just complaining to complain. They don't have a point to their argument. Personally, i'm a Christain, but theres some Christian Rock I can't stand, and there's some that I really love. So i'm not just saying yes because i'm Christian, i'm saying yes because they have good music.

Ah, yes, young people arguing about religion on the internet. It takes me back. When I was your age we didn't HAVE the interwebs to yell about God on! We had to use BBSes and take our turns flaming each other over Christ! And we liked it!
I don't care for Christian rock at all, but there's no question in my mind it's a legitimate and popular niche rock genre in North America. Some Christian rock DLC would make quite a few young Christians happy (not to mention enabling more youth pastors to bring this awesome game to their respective flocks) and make Harmonix more money. Where's the problem?

Kutless, Third Day, Seventh Day Slumber, Falling Up, Pillar, Skillet, Jeremy Camp,
And if calling them "Christian" bands offends people well then that is just ******ed.

Christian Rock is a genre making people who fall under that genre Christian bands. Anyone that says it isnt a musical genre or shouldnt be called christian bands should really do some research before they speak because it makes you sound ignorant.
I think it would be cool to have some of those bands in Rock Band. I would definatly like to see Underoath but i dont know how the screaming would work out.

Okay I used to be like everyone who would be like "oh my GOD, it's Christian music, TURN IT OFF!" but just cause it's Christian music doesn't mean it's all about Praising God. In fact, I honestly can't stand music that presses religion. That said, I do love some Christian music, because it is uplifting and positive compared to mostly what is heard nowadays: sex, drugs, and explicicity (<--- is that even a word? lol) (which isn't terrible, but it gets tiring after a while)
That said, here are my suggestions: Skillet, Disciple, Anberlin, Seventh Day Slumber, Relient K, RED, Flyleaf, MXPX, Decyfer Down.
Seriously, I hate preachy music but honestly listening to these guys you can't even tell that their Christian. Matter of fact, I stumbled upon most of them without even knowing that they were Christian rock.
And it would be a good gimmick to get some more people playing the game as well. Quite possibly a good money maker

the only reason christian is a genre is to advance the religions hold on pop culture, do you consider a song about a girlfriend girlfriend-rock no you dont so why should i consider a song about christians, christian-rock. because it looks better to all the people making money and all the little sheep are going to buy it.

You are being as Narrow minded as those that you claim are narrow minded....therefore I bring this before you in hopes that you would see how Condescending you are being, get a hold of yourself and realize that we like a genre of music you may not like because 1) Its uplifting to us and 2) Its got lyrics that don't talk about sex, drugs, and alcohol which is a definate breath of fresh air now and days
