I'm thinking of buying a Xbox, basically to play Rock Band, but I'll find other games to play on it (anyone know when the next Oddworld coming out?) So far, the cheapest new system I can find is the Xbox 360 core Arcade Bundle for 279. No Xbox live headset and no hard drive. I'm wondering is the 256 MB memory the system comes with, enough for say to have at most a two game memory? Say Rock Band and Halo 3? I sure it will, but were exacly will I start running into trouble with the memory?

256 meg?
Seriously my mp3 player holds more than that!
Spend a little more for a hard drive. Seriously.

the only downside i'd see to the 256 mb memory card is that the available space for DLC (downloadable content) will be limited..
if that's not a concern though, i'm pretty sure the memory card will be enough for rock band and halo 3 saved game files..
the lack of a headset won't be an issue either.. sometimes people chat on rock band, and a lack of a headset for halo 3 might actually be better than having one, because the people for halo 3 online talk alot of trash, so at least without a headset you won't be a target lol
and not sure when the next oddworld is coming out.. sorry!

Your user profile will grow in size as you rack up achievements and stuff. Save games take from under 1 MB up to 20 MB depending on the game. So yes, you have plenty of save room. My 2 profiles and game saves for 7 different games only take up abot 40 MB.
I think each rock band character you make takes up 4 MB.
If you want any downloadable content you will need a hard drive. The smaller ones are on $90 new.

dont get your hopes up for a new oddworld game...i beleve they decided not to make
anymore of them about five years ago...you will defently want a hard drive sooner than
later so i would say skip the arcade pakedge....sorry for my ****ty spelling.
................i checked wiki....the oddworld quintology was canceld in 2005...the makers of it dont even make games
anymore...sucks they were cool games

You could also check ebay for used 20gb HDs...i found them selling for like $20. If i had it to do all over again, I would have bought a core system and then found a HDD on ebay.
EDIT: Just looked too, they are ranging from $30-60 from GOOD ebay sellers. Key is not price...its TRUSTING the seller and not buying a bad drive.
Good luck!
