So, I'm going to see Marilyn Manson, mainly because Slayer is touring with them, and I quite like Slayer.
I've listened to a bit of Manson's music (not a lot though) and it's not the greatest music I've ever heard, but it's good enough to go see.
But I'm not sure what to expect from Manson, he seems like the type to put on a good show, but is there anything else I should really know, considering this guys reputation?
Any stories from Marilyn Manson concerts you've gone to?

I actually just posted this in the "Worst concert you've been to" thread. I'll post it here too since it relates.......

The worst I've seen was Marilyn Manson with Hole opening for them. I think it was around 10 years ago or so.

Hole opened and didn't sound horrible, but Courtney kept bashing Manson every 20 seconds or so and couldn't even get through a song without calling him a coke head and saying things like " I can't believe you all paid to see an old drugged out dirt bag". Hole finishes and leaves the stage.

Manson comes out and gets through half a song before he falls over on stage and stage hands drag him off. The band kept playing with no vocals and finished the song. Then Manson comes back on stage and says "Now I know why Kurt killed himself, what a b-tch". They start to play another song and he falls over again (gets dragged off again). The band doesn't even finish the second song and they leave the stage. Lights come on - show over.

Will never pay to see Manson again.

Huh, so he sucks?
Oh well, I'm going for Slayer anyway

This probably doesn't help, but I expect to leave after Slayer. My friends and I all agree that it's a good thing he's last since he's by far the worst on the tour. Where does he even fit? We have thrash, melodic metalcore, death metal, deathcore, and arguably melodeath...and then Marilyn ****in' Manson. What the hell?

I would expect it to be 1997.

Turns out Slayer is leaving the tour a few days before they get here, so I'm not gonna go (thank god I haven't bought tickets yet)
Yeah, I don't like Manson enough to pay the money and not see Slayer

What to expect? I'll tell you what to expect, prepare to be horrified. I nearly s*** my pants when I've seen him up close.

Doesn't help that his crotch was about 3 feet from my face.

I liked his interview on Bowling for Columbine and his thoughts on the whole incident. Beyond that, I don't like him.

He is a really well-spoken, intelligent individual. It's a shame the make-up and controversy seems to hide all that from the mainstream.

As of late if Trent Reznor is corect on the man he's become a droopy clown depressed his records aren't selling and a drunk. *shrugs* I do agree however about how he handled Colombine and how stupid the media truly is.

They are touring with him all summer, that's true
Manson is playing here on September 25th
Slayer's last show of the tour is before that, so they wont be playing here.

And I agree with the Columbine thing, I have a lot more respect for that guy since I saw that.

OH! I thought you were talking about Mayhem. Sorry, I didn't know Manson was doing a solo tour afterward (and bringing Slayer with him too - this will be at least the third Manson tour in the past year or two with Slayer supporting Manson).
