It seems that's one of the main aspects of the game, if not the most important one, and surely one of the key elements that will make this game fun and make us feel really like The Beatles.
But on the other hand, I don't see other use of them except for TB:RB. RB might have future songs with harmonies, and GH5 have that Party Play Mode- But... meh.
So I've been just wondering who's going to spend XXX $ on new mics for TB:RB?

Mics aren't that expensive considering the extra gameplay you get. Compare it to the ridicolous amounts people spend on DLC and guitars and you'll see it's totally worth it. To most people anyway.

got one with RB and one with the beatles pack, all you need to do, on the 360 anyhow, is buy Lips and sell the game but keep the mics if you want 2 extra. I'm right in thinking the Lips mics now work with RB ?

Well, since I'm purchasing the bundle, technically yes. I'll still need a 3rd one, though, and may pick one up at a later time. I can probably deal with two mics for now.

Yes. Maybe. Since EVERY usb mic should be fine with the game, I will buy some third party usb mics for Wii.

I plan to get two more with stands. However, the wireless SingStar mics seem to be hard to find. I may have to have them wired.

I have no need for extra mics. I already have several. Bought a second mic for RB when our initial RB mic stopped working (EA sent a replacement). We have another mic from one of the American Idol games, and (assuming they get them working with RB games) we also have a pair of Lips mics. So that gives us 3, possibly 5 mics. I think we'll be ok.
I did buy a second mic stand, however. Now I can keep one permanently by my drum kit to vox/drum when playing the other RB games in addition to TBRB.

Do 360 headsets actually work with RB? I thought I tried with RB2.
If not then I'll probably buy Lips, it has a couple decent songs on it.

I have the RB1 mic, 2 LiPS mics, a headset, and a Disney SingIt! mic ($10 at Target!) so I can pretty much have a choir.

I already have two SingStar mics that never get used, but they apparently will work for this one. So I'm pretty happy about that. I remember at one point I tried using them with RB1 and they came this close to working, but they were glitchy. I might purchase another mic stand, though.

I have an RB2 mic and two GH:WT mics I got on eBay that seem to have been sold from a bundle. I'm set.
But do the mics that merge onto one USB port actually work with the game? I thought that wasnt the case.

I can sing and play rock band with the headset so it works you just gotta make sure you unplug the wired mic. so it doesn't get confused as to which one your singing into but that should change once you can have 3 singers and hey does anyone know if the Beatles rock band mics will be wireless???

I have the RB Mic (which I've damaged out of frustration - it's still functional, though), a Logitech USB Microphone, and the MatCatz M.I.C. so I'm completely ready for the harmonies.

I'm almost sure that they are wired. Go to the Facts and Rumours thread, there's all the information.
I think I'll buy more mics, so my friends can sing... Even if they don't want to.:D

I'll buy a second one when I get the game, there only two people in my house who use sing. Good thing I already got a nice boom stand, but I could use another one. Concerning the lips mic, the country track pack can use the lips mic, so go for it. I hear you can get a two mic pack with lips.

I don't know about the blue tooth but i have some news for xbox owners who wouldn't mind spending $50 on a wireless mic. Xbox is making a special mic that will work with all Music Games including Guitar Hero Metallica, Rock Band 2, Disney Sing It: High School Musical 3: Senior Year and The Beatles: Rock Band so theirs another option

I have one from RB, getting another from RB 2, I'll be fine with just 2, Just found 3 guitar stands, no mic stands though. Maybe I could tape the mic to the guitar stand.

This is my first Rock Band purchase, and I am buying the full band set, plus the 2 Beatles guitars. I am interested in getting two more mics as well (I'm a Wii user). Are there official Rock Band mics out there, and what mics do you recommend getting?

The Singstar Mics (both Wired and Wireless) work flawless in Rock Band 2. I'll be using those :)

Look for old games that come with a mic too. The console of the game doesn't matter as long as the mic is usb. I bought a ps2 game (I have a Wii) that came with a mic for $5. A $20 Logitech mic for $5, it was awesome.

I want a cheap mic, because I already have 2. hopefully I can find one before the game comes out!
How expensive are the regular studio mic => USB adapters? I'm not sure of the type of plug they are, so I can't search for them (and we have a lot of studio mics, my dad used to be in a band and still records in the basement now and then).

When it's all said and done, I'll have 5 microphones:
1 wired from the Rock Band bundle
1 wired from The Beatles: Rock Band bundle
2 wireless from Lips
1 wireless purchased on eBay (I'll just need 1 wireless guitar to have an entirely wireless TB:RB setup!)

I have a question.
I have a 4 usb port PS3.
that means I can plug 3 mics directly into the PS3, and then have a hub plugged into the last port.
does that hub need to be AC powered to power all 3 instruments, or not?

I have a still functioning mic from when I bought RB1, and I will be getting one in the bundle. I am considering, however, buying the Lips bundle for the two mics (less wires equals more fun), and only using one of the wired mics.

Any idea if you will need multiple 360 controllers for multiple mics? I'm stuck with only 1 controller, but my friends plan on coming over often to play.

BlockHead has a pair of mics for use in SingStar (PS3) and Rock Band (PS3, 360, Wii) that are 1/4" plugs that go into a USB box. I tried them out. They're good. But most importantly, you can pick up the dual set at Best Buy right now for $12.

When I get the bundle, I'll have (in total)...
1 RB1 (ps2) mic.
1 TB:RB mic.
1 PS3 Eye (that functions as a slightly less sensitive mic)
1 mic stand from TB:RB
The 'supplies' to make a makeshift mic stand. :p (rubber bands, a broom, and a chair)
