Anybody else? My count is up to 3.
Once by myself playing drums (3rd floor + stomping on kick drum).
And twice with a full band. Not only that, but the apartment complex leasing office wrote us a nasty letter.
Rock on... \m/
When the citation comes, it's going on my wall :)

I'm currently on probation for a noise issue...my biggest fear is that the cops come. I could be facing 60 days no bail.
Small price to pay for Rock Band though! I shall drum into the wee hours of morn! HUZZAH!

I've never had any noise complaints put on me even while playing in a real band. That is just nuts. What kind of people do you guys live next to? Do you guys all live next to the scrooge of the town?

I've never had any complaints for rock band, and I'm living in the 2nd floor of an apartment right now.. so go figure.. either tolerant neighbors below me, or just not making that much noise.. no one to the left of me, and the next apartment to the right is a few rooms away.. so it works out nicely..
I've had the cops called on me many times when playing in a real band.. and that was at a house.. its always the drums, though.. can crank it up hardcore without the drums, and no complaints.. but even the most laid back drummer would signal the cops everytime.. bleh

probation? 60 days?? lol are you kidding me? guess i'm not up on legalities, but i thought the worst they can do is give you a citation.. guess maybe i should chill out a bit.
and yeah, i've never had the cops called in a real band either, but that was a house... i dunno. i understand to an extent if it's late, but in my opinion, if you don't want to hear your neighbors, either save some money and get a house or suck it up.

It was for a party I threw...the noise complaint wound up getting us charged with "Keepers of a disorderly house." We weren't even issued a warning. Just had a party, neighbors called, BAM! ARREST!
A holding cell is not a place you want to spend the 3.5 hours between 1 and 4:30 am. Trust me.

I was in the paddy wagon with my roommate, and he starts giggling, and we're all like "what?"
"Guys, you know what this means, right? Every chick at the party saw us getting arrested. We are McLovin. We have street cred."
Anyway, going to bed now. Coincidentally, it's because I have to wake up in the morning and do a day's worth of community service so I don't have a rap sheet.

A "disorderly house" got you time and community service? What kind of sick place do you live in, lol.
Oh well, my neighbhors don't care. They just come over and start partying with us

I was in a band once.
We were playing a small concert to raise money to get us back to our hometown.
We got the "fuzz" called on us for a "noise and flashing light" complaint. (We're cheap, and only had some strobe lights)
Anyhoo, the cops just warned us about the noise, but when they found out we were playing a concert for money without the right permits... we spent the night in jail and had to pay $500 to get our instruments out of storage.
You know how we got the $500? We lived in our Van for a few weeks while we sold plasma.
F***ing Metal.

I haven't had any complaints in this apartment, and these walls are so thin you can hear people whispering 3 floors down. I just have good neighbors I guess, although they never hesitate to make lots of noise. Besides, I could easily turn it around on anyone in the building, they complain about my noise, I complain about them smoking weed. All's fair in war and video games.
Now, my brother was the drummer in a band back in 1998 and our neighbors complained numerous times about the noise. They were jerks, no one else complained. But the band had to move from the garage to the basement anyway, which put all conversations on hold when they'd play because we couldn't anyone screaming bloody murder they were so loud...... but damn were they good! If I find their CD, maybe I'll put some of their songs up, they were an alternative rock band.

I live on the 2nd floor, my downstairs neighbor stood on the sidewalk screaming up to my balcony for about 10 minutes. Finally I went outside and said "what's up?"
He replied "Is that you up there playing drums and makin' all that noise and racket?"
I said "Yeah.. sorry, I didn't know it was that loud"
He says "It's loud as hell. Turn it up!" and tossed me a beer.
Guess it just goes to show that real rockers live life RIGHT.
He laughed his arse off three days later when I explained I was playing a video game.

Some of the stories in this thread are seriously made of win.
I live in a house with quite a bit of distance between our house and the neighbors', so I haven't had any noise complaints. I blast music and movies all the time and nobody cares. Ahh, the country life.

I envy you right now, as I used to have a similar life... apartment life sucks. Heck, even when I lived with my mom, the house on one side was unoccupied the majority of the time (was a summer house for some Floriders) and the others were a decent distance away.

In my old band we used to get the cops called on us about once a week because the across the street neighbor was a no-goodnick. Sorry mods, I don't mean to use such colorful language but he really was a ninny. We never got anything and the cops even went as far as to ask another neighbor if we were too loud and they said we were fine so all was good after that.
Anyway, now, years later I live in a condo and I am having my first "Rock Band" get together this saturday. Luckily I am on the ground floor and my neighbors seem to be pretty cool. I guess we will see how cool when I have my surround sound cranked to eleven.

Luckily, I live in the basement of an appartment, so there's no one under to suffer of the drum's pedal. :P

You guys must be doing some enthusiastic bass pedaling! Or I have really tolerant neighbors. I live in a 3rd floor apartment and have had 4 or 5 Rock Band parties but have never received a complaint...even with repeated shoutings of "Sabotage".
And, dude, 60 days in jail? That's taking it a little far...

To my credit, I was playing Hard drums for the first time at 10:30pm.
To my not-credit, my downstairs neighbor called four of Chicago's Finest.
Four.
I got a warning. And a cookie. Seriously, the cops gave me a cookie.

Gonna have to talk to my neighbor about when and how loud. Boo.
