View Full Version : Guitar player and singer - one person?

I thought a lot of bands have a singer who is a guitar player too.
I, for instance, have some kind of mic pedestal at home, so I could actually play the guitar and sing at the same time.
I know that I'm probably one of the few people who have a pedestal at home, but still, I think it would be nice if you could set up your character as a singer and guitar player at once, so I can do both at the same time!

There have been a lot of people wondering if they would be able to sing and play the guitar as one player. I suppose you could create your band with two profiles and do it? Or maybe there will be a lead vocals/guitar option?

Yes, that's what I'm hoping for! And of course you must have the alternative to change to "vocals/guitar - one person" and "vocals/guitar - two different people" everytime in the game.

for the songs taht require you to band the mic in time with the bang it will be impossible if not difficult. But I'd imagin someone who knows a song well enough could do it.

Everyone states this as a problem, while it is true, I don't see it as much of a problem at all. If you miss those 5 - 10 tamborine/cowbell notes will it really hurt your score that much? Will it cause you to fail? I don't think it will, although it hasn't been said how easy it is for you to fail, but if it is anything like GH II, I would think it would be quite hard to. If/When I sing and play guitar or drums or bass I'm probably not going to worry about those few times when there is no singing and you have to tap along with it.
Also I don't think at this time there will be an option to use your character to sing and play at the same time, but nothing will stop you from singing and playing at the same time with two chracters.

You could always headbutt the mic for the tambourine notes.

You wouldn't even have to headbutt the mic from what I understand becaue they're saying the only time you'll have tambourine notes will be when you have guitar solos. With the new Strat the guitar solos can be done with only one hand and the other would be completely free to tap the mic. :)

High school has a VERY good point...without having to strum for solos, your hand is free to do whatever it wants...including tap the mic for tamborine effects..i REALLY enjoy singing and i do very well on guitar hero...singing and playing would be awesome...even if i could sing and play bass....or even drums...that would be insane

That's a very good point.
It will take a lot of coordination though.
Maybe I'll only play solo-less songs...

would it work to just make some kind of sound for the tambourine/cowbell part, or do you HAVE to tap it?

that would be sick if you could pull it off though...study the lyrics to the songs now and be prepared

The only reason you don't have to strum for solos is that, they are really fast and it lets you play the solo with 2 hands. If you don't use both hands for the fast solos, your screwed (unless of course your like Eddie Van Hale, or realllllly fast). The only solution I have to this is, you could have a little piece of plastic that can be hit against the mic if you press a pedistle with your feet. I hope this problem gets solved soon.
