For a while now, I've been trying to find out whether 3 of the Xbox 360 wireless microphones (the ones that come with Lips & will soon also be sold separately) could be used at once with The Beatles: Rock Band.
After never receiving confirmation from Microsoft after contacting them in a variety of ways (including email and Twitter), I pretty much gave up.
Then, Harmonix created official Twitter accounts for Rock Band (@RockBand) and TB:RB (@TheBeatlesRB)! They had to know! (And they did!)
sailerman: @TheBeatlesRB Can 3 of the Xbox 360 wireless mics be used at the same time? I want to get an all wireless setup for The Beatles: Rock Band!
TheBeatlesRB: @sailerman Yes, 3 Xbox 360 wireless mics can be used at the same time so you can create an all-wireless set-up for TB:RB. Woohoo!
So there you have it, Harmonix has officially confirmed that everyone singing can use a wireless microphone! If you can find Lips cheap, pick it up, and if you've already got Lips, go get another mic on eBay (like I have)!

I believe so. I seem to recall MS making it compulsory that RB/GH/rhythm games in general be functional with the 360 Wireless microphone. The Lips mic is exactly same as the 360 mic which is getting released in a couple of weeks.
On a side note, I'm expecting the mic/stars patch in the next week or so; the 360 mic is due out on August 12. It would look bad for both HMX and MS if it couldn't work with RB on that day.

It sure would be handy to use the Lips mic for my drums, since I have my kit set up behind our home theater chairs, and that is just a tiny bit too far for the USB mic to reach and still be in a good position for my mic stand when I vox/drum.

You could just get a USB extension cable. I plan on just finding some USB mics for my Wii and making the necessary additions.

Dont the Lips/Wireless Mics take up a controller slot on the 360? If so, how is it possible to have 3 wireless mics + drums + guitar + bass when the controller max is 4?

The lips mics only take up a slot when a controller is on. So if you are playing lips 2 player, and only have one controller, it still works and only one quadrant is lit on the console. I have never tried more than the 2.

I've found the volume level of the MSWM (aka Lips mic) to be very low compared to my wired RB1 microphone. Is there anyway to turn up the gain on these?

I only tried the Lips mics so far and they seemed fine?
I'll have to test with wired to check the difference.
Thanks for the heads up.

What about the reported 'delay' or 'lag' that the wireless mics are having...any more word on this?
